Chapter 21
TAYLOR'S P. O. V.
As soon as I walked into my house, I took out my phone to call my mom. It took her a while to answer.
"Taylor?"
"Hey, mom." I slip off my shoes.
"Is something wrong?" She asks, sounding a little breathless.
"No, I just wanted to know if Lauren-"
"Yeah, of course. You know Lauren can come anytime she wants."
I rushed up the steps to throw my bookbag in my room. "You didn't let me finish. Blake and Zach are coming too, and sleeping over." I jogged back down the stairs and walked to the kitchen.
"Zach?"
My face heated only a little. "We're actually making progress, I'll tell you everything tomorrow."
"Are they all sleeping over then?"
I opened up the snack cabinet, scanning the shelves for something to snack on. "That's the plan."
"Okay, that's fine. The blow up bed is in my closet, we should be home a little later tonight, around 10."
"Alright thanks, Mom." I grab the Cheez-its from the second shelf.
"I gotta go, orders to fill."
I smile. "Have fun, love you."
"Love you, too. Bye, and tell everyone I said don't touch the pickles. Those are mine."
"Will do, bye." I said while laughing. She hung up, and I shoved my phone into the front pocket of Zach's sweater. Before I ate the cheez-its, I washed the dishes, since there was only a few in the sink. Drying my hands, I take the already opened box into the living room to wait for my friends to arrive.
Lauren and Blake were the first to show up about 20 minutes later. They walked straight in, knowing that I didn't care if they knocked or not.
"Taylor?"
"Living room!" I yelled, rolling back up the bag inside the cheez-it box.
Only Lauren came into view. Before I could ask where Blake is, I hear him yell, "I'm gonna take the bags upstairs! Should I just put them in your room?"
"Yeah, that's fine!" I say, standing up to put away my snack.
Lauren follows me out into the kitchen. "Do you have the little pretzel sticks?" She asks as I put away my cheez-its. I nod and move out of the way so she can get whatever she wants from the cabinet. I open the fridge, looking for a drink.
"What do you want to drink?" I ask just as Blake joins us in the kitchen.
"What do you have?" Just as Lauren asks, there is knocking on the door. I look over at Lauren, and she smiles at me. "Blake, can you get that? It's just Zach." I say, trying to hide my smile as I grab a juice pouch for me. He nods, and heads over.
"We have Root Beer, Coke, Juice Pouches, Sunny D, and water." I hear the front door open.
"I didn't think you had the balls to ask him to come over." She says, taking her pretzel sticks from the snack cabinet.
My eyes rolled. "Shut up." I could feel myself blush as I heard footsteps and already laughter coming closer.
"Just admit you like him, then you can make out." Lauren said in my ear, reaching in the fridge to get a coke. I push her a little with my elbow. "You're stupid." I mumbled weakly, trying to shake the image of me and Zach actually making out away from my thoughts. The worst part is that even the idea of us kissing makes me a little too happy.
