Chapter 37.
Taylor's P. O. V.
I sit down on my bed, laptop and notebook in hand. Granted, I should probably be doing my homework downstairs on a table, but I just don't have the energy to go back downstairs.
"You should really be doing that at a desk or something," Zach voices my thoughts.
"Okay, and? It's just one quiz and I'm done," I defend.
He rolls his eyes, laying down next to me, back resting against the headboard. I log into my school account and scroll, searching for the link that the teacher had set up. I click to begin.
"You know, the quicker you tell me what you actually want for christmas, the sooner I can plan for it."
"Can we wait until after I'm done doing this to-"
"It's just one sentence. One word even, I don't know why you won't tell me. I told you that I wanted a hoodie from adidas." I can't concentrate with him spewing nonsense at me.
"Zach, not right now." I know he can sense me growing more annoyed with him, but he doesn't seem to care.
He winces, adjusting his position. "A new pillow? Yours are pretty uncomfortable." 15 questions in this quiz and I can't even finish the first one.
"If you promise to shut up while I do this, I'll tell you what I want." Looking at him, he's beaming.
"Promise," he says, pulling out his phone to keep him occupied. I huff, turning back to my screen. About ten minutes later, a 95% flashes across my screen. Happy with my results, I log out.
"Now please-"
"I only said that so you would leave me alone," I admit, closing the computer and setting it between us. He grabs it and sets it on the other side of him so he can scoot closer to me.
"That's not fair, why can't you just say anything". When I look at him again, he's pouting. I know he watches my eyes focus in on his lips, but he doesn't say anything.
"It is fair, I already told you so many times. It means more to me that you come up with something on your own than me telling you what I want. Like the CD you got me for my birthday. I didn't even know I wanted that until I had it," I say. I stand up from the bed and walk to place my notebook and pen on the dresser. He seems somewhat satisfied with this response, and gets up from the bed to stand in front of me.
"Fine, fine. I'll come up with something," he mutters, grabbing my hips.
"Thank you," is all I can get out, before pushing him away by his chest. I laugh as his eyebrows scrunch up, and he tries to kiss me.
"We need to meet my mom at the doctor's in like fifteen minutes," I say when he leans in again.
I let him kiss me this time, and he speaks against my mouth, "So? I just wanted to kiss, unless you had something else in mind.." he trails off, pulling away and gauging for my reaction. We haven't talked about or tried anything more, but it's not like he tries to hide it either. I can tell he wants more by the way he lets his hands wander. I'm not opposed to it per say, but we definitely should wait it out.
I decide to go with the safe answer, my mind already spinning. "Not right now, no."
He smirks. He knows that he's gotten in my head with that now. His lips make their way to my neck, resting against my pulse. I definitely notice his hips pressed against mine. "Whenever you want."
"Okay, okay, okay" I repeat, pushing him gently, my face definitely inflamed right now. I don't feel uncomfortable, but I feel a little awkward. My subconscious annoyingly reminds me that he doesn't know yet, he doesn't know everything.
