"No ticket no entrance" finalised the ticket officer
"But these tickets are-"
"-Fake""
"-legit!" Shelly protested
"Listen kid, I'm not stood out in the cold to argue with a pair of sly good for nothing-"
She interrupted "-hold on a minute mister, but who do-"
"Drop in Shelly" Justin spoke behind her placing a hand on her shoulder
Turning to face her companion she was all but ready to dig into him for stopping her mud rant "But-"
Shelly fell silent under Justin's glaze making her stop short.
"That's right kid listen to your friend here"
Shelly turned back to the ticket officer sat snug in his booth, ready to give him a piece of her mind, but Justin's grip tightened, making her walk away. Hearing the music as it poured out of the open top arena Shelly sulked a little disappointed, waiting to speak until Justin to come to a stop.
"How could you just stand there andnot say anything" Shelly accused, jabbing a finger in his chest"
"Was it really worth the argument?" asked Justin
"Well if it meant getting us in after you buy dodgy tickets off a an on the street, then yeah it was worth in" Shelly huffed
"Ah c'mon Shell how was I to know they would be as fake as?"
"Don't even try to justify your stupidity" she warned dropping down on a near by bench
"Shell don't be like that"
"Well you can hardly expect me to me over the moon now can you?"
Justin sighed, he really had messed up this time, watching the passers by his gaze wondering to the stars above, giving him an idea "How about if I make it up to you?"
"How'd you plan on doing that? the tickets are fake, we have no spare cash-"
"D'you trust me?"
Shelly rolled her eyes "What an overused cliche line, I thought you were all for originality"
"Work with me here Shell" Justin all but pleaded
Shrugging her arms not commiting to anything she decided to hear him out "What have you got in mind?"
"You have to swear to trust me on this"
Crossing her arms under her chest Shell pretended to think it over in her mind before raising an brow to look at him with a small grin. "Fine, humor me"
Justin beamed at her compliance and dragging her around the block he paused in front of a fire stairway
"Um Justin? hate to be a pessimist but I thought you were gonna get us into the concert"
"It's an open roof concert is it not?
"So?
"So," he dragged out "climb up" he finish pointing upwards with a click of his fingers
"I'm not following you" Shelly confessed a little confused
"Just do it"
Complying Shelly put her foot on the first rung, grunting a little as her hoisted herself up "Are you sure about this?"
"No backing out now" Justin sung out from below her.
Taking another step Shelly kept focusing until she reached the platform "How high up do you want us to go?"
"All the way to the top" Justin grinned, enjoying Shelly's shocked expression "Don't worry, it's a flat roof"
"This better be worth it"
"I hope so too" Justin muttered to himself
After their precariously dangerous climb to the top, Shell wrapped her arms around her as she waited for Justin to hoist himself up the last few rungs.
"What now?" she asked once her had brushed himself off
"Follow me"
Taking his hand, Shelly followed as Justin led her across the roof top, careful to avoid miscellaneous objects that were scattered around. It was now that Shelly could make out random small clusters of groups of friends or the odd couple or two, all looking out in the same direction.
Clutching onto Justin's hand a little tighter than necessary, she kept her guard up as they made their way towards the small crowd. Coming to a halt in the far hand corner, just off the the left of the others gathered on the roof, Justin pulled away from Shelly, doing a mock bow in her direction.
"I present to you, your beloved concert" he announced sweeping his hand over a the open air.
"I have to say, you have definitely redeemed yourself"
As the supporting act left on stage and the main band was announced on stage Shelly cheered along with all the other crazy rooftop concert crashers as the opening chords began to play.
