Chapter 19- Call Him

Y/N= your name Y/LN= your last name F/N=friend's name
You wake up and grab your phone. It was the day before Phil's birthday.
"Mum, I'm going to go out for a bit," you tell her as you pop your head in her room.
"Can you go later? I have some friends coming over and I need you to help me set up," she asks. She is putting on makeup.
"Sure," you answer, "I'll make a cake for them,"
You walk downstairs and you eat some food before you start baking. Your mum's friends come after you decorate the cake. You stand next to your mum as you both greet her friends.
"So Y/N, how's that boyfriend of yours?" one of your mum's friends asks as your mum gets the cake from the kitchen.
"Y/N baked a cake. Would anyone like to try it?" your mum offers. She walks past you as she hands out the cake, "You can go upstairs if you want," she whispers to you. You gratefully smile and head upstairs. You pick up your phone and call Phil.
"Hi Y/N! How are you?" Phil laughs.
"I'm good. Happy day before your birthday," you smile.
"Thanks. "What's up?" Phil asks.
"So my mum has some friends over and I was wondering if you and Dan wanted to come over. It's really awkward," you ask fiddling with your hair.
"I'd love to go, Y/N, but I have to help Dan with a video," Phil sighs.
"It's okay. I'll talk to you later," you frown.
"Wait, um Dan said that he wants to FaceTime you," Phil says.
You press the FaceTime button and Dan's face pops up on your screen.
"Hey Y/N! I heard everything. I feel bad for you. Do you think your mum would let you come over to our place?" Dan offers.
"I think she wants me to help clean up after," you say.
"Okay. You are at your mum's house right?" Dan replies.
"Yeah. Why?" you ask puzzled.
"No reason. Talk to you later, Y/N! I'm giving the phone back to Phil now," Dan smiles.

"Hey Y/N, Dan's been acting weird since- you know when we-" Phil smiles.
"After we kissed?" you answer completing his sentence.
"Yeah. We should talk about that," Phil blushes.
"Phil, you don't have to be embarrassed," you giggle.
"Y/N! I need your help," your mum calls from downstairs.
"I have to go. My mum needs help with something," you sigh.
"Bye love. May the party be ever in your favor," Phil smiles as he hangs up. You smile as you head downstairs.
Phil POV
"Come on, Phil!" Dan calls out as he walks toward me wearing his coat.
"Dan, where are we going?" I ask confused.
"To Y/N's mum's house," Dan replies as if it is obvious.
"Why?" I ask again.
"Philip Michael Lester, you will go and be there for Y/N. She needs you. It might not seem important, but you need to prove to her that you will be there for her. It's not as life changing or horrible as when F/N died but it's still important," Dan lectures me.
"But-" I begin to protest.
"Do you want me to drag you there?" Dan comments.

"Alright, let's go," I smile as I get my coat.
Your POV
You help your mum hand out some wine to her friends. You take a glass and have a small sip of the wine. Someone knocks on the door. You put your glass down and go open the door.
"Hello," Phil smiles at you. He gives you a hug.
"Thank you for coming," you whisper to him.
"I'll always be here for you," he mutters.
"I'm here too!" Dan smirks giving you a hug.
"I'll introduce you guys to my mum's friends," you smile leading them to where everyone else is.
Your mum hugs Dan and Phil then she introduces them to her friends.
"You two seem like very nice gentlemen," one of her friends compliments.
"Which one of you is Y/N's boyfriend?" another asks.
"Phil and Y/N are going on a date tomorrow," Dan quickly answers. You roll your eyes.
"Mum, I'm going to show Dan and Phil the rest of the house," you tell your mum.
"Okay. I'll tell you if I need anymore help," she smiles in a understanding way.
"Thanks for letting us come to your party, Mrs. Y/LN!" Phil smiles.
You take Dan and Phil upstairs to your room.
"I'm still unpacking a couple of boxes," you explain moving some boxes into the hallway, "Make yourselves at home," you smile at them.
Phil POV
I look around Y/N's room. The plant we gave her is sitting next to her window. The red roses I gave her are next to the plant. Everything is organized, except for her desk. Her desk is crowded with papers, notebooks, books, and a small corner with makeup. I sit down next to her on her bed.
"Hey Y/N, have you ever played the 7 Second Challenge?" Dan asks sitting on a chair in the corner of the room.
"Yeah, it's really fun. I use to play it with F/N all the time. You guys made it right?" Y/N laughs.
"Yep. Do you two want to play?" Dan offers.
"Sure," Y/N and I smile.
"Phil, make a rap about cheese," Dan smirks.
"Cheese is bad. It isn't rad? It makes people mad. Cheese," I awkwardly rhymes making Dan and Y/N laugh.

"You definitely have a career in rapping," she jokes resting her head on my shoulder.
"Aww thanks, honey," I reply going along with the joke. I wrap my arm around her.
"I'm going to get some food," Dan smirks closing the door behind him.
"Do you want to talk about it?" she asks.
"Sure," I answer worried and excited at the same time.
(A/N: you might have noticed that I changed the title of the book. If you didn't then, just so you know, I changed the name of the book. It will still have the same plot line. Don't worry kiddos! I'm so excited because next week on May 22nd I'm meeting Dan and Phil in DC! )
