You follow Dan and Phil to their meet and greet. It was early January. It was going to be the first meet and greet of the year. "Are you okay?" you ask Phil. Something was wrong. He hasn't slept in days and he wasn't his usual self. "I'm just a little tired," he replies. "If you need a break, then tell me. Tell me if you need anything," you give him a hug before you walk into the meet and greet room. "Hi!" you smile at everyone waving. They all scream. You stand in front of the room, "Are you guys excited to meet Dan and Phil?" you ask. They keep screaming. "Give a warm welcome to my friends, Dan and Phil!" you laugh. Dan and Phil walk into the room. They smile and wave at everyone. They walk to the front of the room. They both give you a hug which earns more screaming from the crowd. You walk to the side. You sit down on the floor and watch them. Phil seems to be doing okay. About fifty people have taken pictures with Dan and Phil before Phil looks at you. "Hi! I'm Jess. I'm a really big fan of yours. Do you mind if I take a selfie with you?" a girl asks you after she finishes talking to Dan and Phil. "Sure! I can take the selfie," you smile at her. She hands you her phone and you quickly take a picture. "Thank you so much!" she grins as she gives you a hug before walking away. You approach the front of the line. Phil walks up to you after he finishes talking to a viewer. "You okay?" you whisper. "I really need a break. I can't do this," he mutters. "Phil, stay strong for me, love. I'm going to have a couple more people go. Then, you can take a break. Can you do that?" you whisper. "Just a few more people," he replies. He seems to say it more to himself than to you. You let a couple of people move up. After you let them move, you stand in front of the rest of the people. "Dan and Phil will be taking a short break. You guys can get to know the people around you or you can be antisocial and stay on your phone. Either option works. They will be back soon," you announce to them. After the last person leaves, Phil hurries away. You and Dan share a look before you both walk in the direction that Phil went. You see Phil go into a room. "You should go talk to him," you tell Dan. Dan goes into the room. He comes out a few seconds later. "Is he okay?" you ask.

"He wants you," Dan replies. "Phil?" you sigh as you walk into the room. You see him sitting on the floor. His knees are pulled up to his chest. He is resting his head in between his knees. You sit in front of him. "Phil," he doesn't reply, "Phil!" you see Dan standing in the doorway, "Phil?" you begin to shake him, "Phillip Michael Lester! Stop it. You're scaring me," your eyes begin to water. "Sorry," Phil answers softly. He lifts up his head. His hair is messed up and his eyes look pink. "What's wrong, love?" you ask as you curl up next to him. "A lot of these people have such sad stories. Then, they say that Dan and I helped them feel better. I guess I just got emotional," he tells you. "Is that it?" you feel like there was something else wrong with him. Something more. "No, I was feeling a little down before this. I feel like you want to leave me. I feel like I'm holding you back. If you were dating someone else, then they could give you a better relationship. Maybe one that doesn't have to be hidden from millions of people. I want you to be happy, even if it isn't happiness with me. At the same time, I want to keep you in a little box so I can hold you forever," he explains.

"Phil, I'm happy with you. I'm not going to leave you just because we can't show affection in public. Phil, I love you. I haven't loved anyone this much. You are the reason I haven't killed myself. Please, stay strong for me. Stay strong for our relationship. If you need anything, I'll be there for you," you reply. You press your lips against him. "I love you, too. Thanks for that. I feel better," he smiles at you as he stands up. "Are you ready to go back?" you stand up. He kisses your forehead as you follow him out.
