You, Grace, Christopher, and Phil get out of the taxi. A small crowd starts to approach you. You sigh as you start to walk to your flat. Insults are thrown at you as you lead your small group to the building.
"You don't deserve him," someone shouts.
"Why do you even try?" another person yells.
You turn around and see Grace sitting on the pavement. You run over to her.
"It's because I didn't get valedictorian. I didn't get the second highest scores in 8th grade. It's my fault," Grace mutters to herself.
"Grace, it's not about that," Christopher assures her.
"It's because I failed my Algebra Exemption Exam. That's why they are here. It's because I didn't get into any honors or AP classes my Freshman year of high school," she cries.
"What's wrong with her?" you whisper in Christopher's ear.
"English was my best subject and I didn't get into honors!" she starts hyperventilating.
"Grace, look at me. You need to calm down. It's bad for the baby," Phil sits down next to her.
"I'm never going to be successful! I wasn't the smart one. I was always the nice one. The funny one. The one with the good jokes. The one with the nice family. The one who was going to be a wonderful mother. How am I going to be a good mother if I can't even get over something that happened when I was a kid?" she sobs.
You don't know what to do. You have never seen Grace act like this. She moved to England when she was 18. She had lived in Virginia before that. You didn't know much about her personal life... until now. She basically just told you her whole entire childhood.
Christopher picks her up. You see Dan open the door to the building. Phil keeps the crowd away from Christopher. Christopher grabs your hand and you follow him into the building. You quickly unlock the door. Christopher puts her down on the couch.
You sit down next to her.
Christopher leads you to your kitchen. Dan and Phil are looking through your pantry.
"Grace isn't exactly confident. When she was younger, she didn't really know what to do. She's an only child so she didn't really have anyone to talk to. She has a tendency to bottle up her emotions. She said that she didn't really talk to anyone because her problems didn't seem as bad as her cousin's. Apparently, she felt that her cousin was the main focus of the family despite him being 10 years older than her. As you could tell, she's been through a lot. I would really appreciate it if you guys didn't bring this up," Christopher explains.
"Has she ever done this before?" you ask.
"This is about the second time," he replies, "but sometimes she just cries at night when she remembers."
"That's horrible," Phil sighs.
"Seems a bit relatable. Not wanting to share your feeling because you are afraid of how people will react," Dan frowns.
"Good point," you comment.
"Today is Wednesday right?" Christopher asks.
"Yeah," you nod.
"Maybe if I show her today's Ham4Ham, she'll feel better. Lin's Ham4Ham always makes her laugh," Christopher tells himself as he takes out his phone.
"It's only going to make her feel worse. She said that she wanted to be like Hamilton. The fact that she can only see Ham4Ham will make her feel worse," you sigh.
"Y/N has a point," Phil frowns.
"Well what are we going to do?" Christopher exclaims
"I'll try talking to her," you tell them as you walk back to Grace.
Grace is rubbing her stomach and softly singing to her baby.
"What are you singing?" you ask her as you sit down next to her.
"Songs from The Phantom of the Opera," she replies.
"What else do you like besides musicals?" you try to start a conversation.
"Tell Christopher that I'm fine. He knows I'm fine. I don't know why he is acting like I'm not fine." she suddenly snaps.
"Grace, he's your husband. He's worried about you and about the baby. He only wants what is best for you," you explain.
"Hi Grace," Phil smiles as he sits on the other side of Grace.
"I don't want to talk about what happened," she mutters.
"Grace, what happened wasn't your fault. It's Y/N's fault and my fault. You're going to be a wonderful mother. If you ever need anything, we're here for you. Dan, Y/N, and I are here for you," he tells her as he tries to comfort her.
"Thanks," she replies as she gives Phil a hug.
"Hi baby Y/LN. It's Phil. You should tell your mum to name you after me," Phil laughs as he starts to talk to Grace's stomach.
"Talking to the baby isn't exactly going to put your name on top of the list of baby names," Grace giggles as she pushes her dark brown hair out of her face.
Phil talks to the baby for a few more minutes. It seems to calm Grace.
Phil is like that. He can calm people. You know that. He calms you, Grace, and basically all of his viewers. He could calm anyone.
You walk back to the kitchen to update Christopher.
"She's fine. Phil with her," you smile at him.
He sighs in relief and gives you a hug.
"Don't let him leave. We need him. You need him," he whispers in your ear.
