Charlotte's POV
The day finally flew by and I can finally go home.
It was almost 8:00 and I was walking home. I didn't feel like doing my homework at home, so I went to Starbucks and did it there.
It was starting to get even more dark outside, so I picked up the pace and started walking a little bit faster. By the time I got to my house, It was pitch black outside. I smiled to my self knowing that I won't have to walk home in the dark anymore.
As soon as I entered the house, I inhaled the smell of alcohol and smoke. I started coughing because I despised that smell.
But wait.
Why did It smell like this?
"Um, Mom?" I called out. Which I soon regretted.
"H-honey! W-welcome home. Where ha-ve y-you been?" My mom stepped out of her room.
I gave her a disgusted look and made my way in her room.
The smell of alcohol once again intoxicated my body which made me gag. All of the floor there was bottles of drinks everywhere. When ever my mom drank like this, that would mean she was very depressed about something.
"Mom! You told me you would never drink again! You promised me and you broke it! You told me that if you felt depressed, you would come to me and I would help you. Why do you do this to me? I expect better from you. You probably don't know what I'm saying right now because you're drunk out of your god damn mind!" I yelled before walking upstairs.
Before I could make it to my room, I felt an arm around my wrist. I turned around now face to face with my mom, her eyes looked so dark and she looked like she was going to explode.
Before I could say anything, I felt my cheek sting because of her hand that came across me.
"Don't y-you ever, t-talk to me like that a-again." She slurred her words. Scared of what could happen next I nodded obeying her. She pushed me in my room and I shut the door and slid my back down the wall. I started to cry.
I know how my mom gets when she's drunk, but it's never came to her slapping me. That hurt me, both mentally and physically. I really wish my dad was here. I honestly don't know where he was, but I for sure did miss him.
I touched the spot on my cheek where she slapped me, I jumped a little bit because it stung when I touched it. I ran to the bathroom and looked at my reflection in the mirror.
I looked terrible,my eyes were red and puffy from crying, my hair looked like a birds nest, and to top it off there was a big bruise starting to form on my right cheek.
My cheek felt like it was burning, so I went downstairs to get an ice pack.
I checked my surroundings, I didn't wanna run into my mom. It was clear and I made my way to the kitchen. I grabbed an ice pack and went to look for my mom.
I found her passed out on the living room couch. I sighed and shook my head. I was very disappointed in her.
I made my way back upstairs and found my phone ringing.
I looked at the caller and there was a picture of Liam and I on the screen. I smiled to myself knowing that it was him.
"Hello?" I spoke into the phone.
"Hey Char! How's it goin?" He asked.
I didn't wanna tell him about my mom. I just wasn't in the mood to talk about it at the moment. So I tried to sound as happy as I could.
