Chapter 20

Charlotte's Pov

I thankfully woke up before 5:00, I'm surprised myself I actually got up too. I quickly took a shower and decided to let my hair dry by its self. It was warm outside, so I decided to wear light blue jeans which were rolled up at the ankles and a white tank top with a fray blazer. By the time I was done my hair was in its natural waves and I was ready to go.

When I looked at the time, it read 4:56 so Liam should be hear any minute. I was honestly really excited at the idea of hanging out with him. We haven't hung out in a while and hopefully we won't run into Cody or Adam, or anyone in that matter.

I made my way downstairs making sure I didn't forget my phone. Surprisingly my mom was on the couch watching tv with no drinks in sight. I mentally groaned to myself at the sight of her, and I was silently praying that she wouldn't talk to me.

Well my wishes didn't last very long.."Hey Charlotte. Where ya' going?" She asked me, her voice sounded a bit raspy so there's no denying that she's been having a few drinks.

I tried not to show the pile of annoyance on my face, "I'm hanging out with Liam."

She nodded, "Okay, well don't be home late."

I stopped in my tracks and turned around on my heel, "Excuse me?"

She looked up from her magazine, starring at me with a look of confusion, "I said don't be home late."

I laughed, I actually laughed at her and her expectations. "Who the hell are you to tell me when to be home? You aren't even home half the time so why should I be? Unlike you I actually want to do things with my life besides get wasted all the time. I am not helping you anymore, I tried once before but you didn't follow a damn order I gave you! Do you know how fucking broken I was when I came home to see you completely wasted out of your god damn mind! I know dad left us a while ago, but there's much more solutions out in the world besides drinking to help your problems! And to top it off you slapped me! You fucking slapped your own daughter! So if you think for one second that I'm going to actually to do what you say, then you should get your head out of your ass and wake up a little bit. You may be my mother, but from this moment on, just pretend that I'm just another person in the house who doesn't know you."

My words were harsh, but I didn't give a damn. It was the best feeling in the world to let that all out, and by the look on her face I know that she wanted to fall on the floor and cry, but I wasn't going to help her.

I sighed one more time before leaving the house, I wanted to get out of there and just wait for Liam outside.

I decided to go on my phone while I wait, and soon I saw Liam's figure walking towards me and all of the anxiety,mad, angry emotions went away.

I got up from the ground and smiled at him,"Hey."

"Hey! Ready to go?" He asked.

"Yeah. So since you walked here, I take that we're walking."

He nodded, "Yeah, I was just going to have us walk around town. Is that okay?"

"Of course it is. I'm just glad I wore comfortable shoes."I said, looking down at my black flats.

Liam and I literally went to every store in town. We went to the ice cream shop, we went to some shops and bought a couple of things, trying on goofy items too, and we went to our favorite candy store.

"What would you like?" Liam asked as we entered.

I shrugged, "Whatever comes to sight I'll just pick out what I want."

I decided ti get a bag a jelly beans, don't ask me why but I was craving them. I only picked out my favorite flavours because the other ones tasted like shit. I looked over to Liam and saw him watching me with his hands in his pockets.
