Liam's POV
As I heard Charlotte talking, all I wanted to do was go over to her, and hold her in my arms. I was at the verge of crying as I listened to her talk.
I never knew she was this hurt. Of course I knew she was terribly sad when her dad suddenly left, because I was the one who was there for her. But she never told me that she was still in this state.
As she finished talking, I couldn't manage to speak. I was in a state of shock, and I felt like there was a knife stabbing my heart. She just sat on the ground totally sobbing,
"Charlotte." I finally spoke, but as barely a whisper.
Her head turned around and her eyes met mine,
"Liam." She spoke. She didn't hesitate to get up and run towards me. She wrapped her arms around me, hugging me tightly. I hugged back trying to comfort her. I could feel her still crying in the crook of my neck,
"Did you hear everything?" Her voice cracked as she asked.
I nodded in response, making her hug me tighter. We finally let go, and my heart just sunk. Her eyes were puffy and red, along with her nose.
"What are you doing at my house at 3 in the morning?" She asked me, managing a little smile.
"I couldn't sleep, so I just came over to see if I could sleep here. I'm sorry Char, I should have at least texted or called you." I apologized.
The corner of her lips tugged into a small smile,"It's okay Li. I'm glad you're here. As you can what just happened I'm not very um...exactly in a good mood."
"Charlotte. I don't know what to say, I didn't know that you were still in that state. You should have told me, I would have made you feel a whole lot better and take your mind off of things. I'm sorry this had to happen to you. You and your mum both don't deserve to go through any type of pain like this. I'm so, so sorry Char." I said to her, embracing her into a hug and rubbing her arms.
"Liam. It's okay, I'm honestly fine. I just miss him a lot. I wasn't that depressed before tonight, I was just going through his things and it made me feel...alone. I'm sorry you had to see that, but It's okay. I'm just not going to think about it. Even though I wasn't actually talking to him, I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders, because It's like he was actually here, and your here with me now, which is even better. Don't worry about me, I'm fine." She exclaimed, showing me her big goofy smile that I always loved.
"I'm glad to hear that from you Char. But if this ever happens again, just call me. I'll always be here." As I said those words, she started to smile and nodded her head.
"So, where's your mom?" I asked, as we walked to the little bench that rocks back and forth. Her face suddenly dropped.
She chuckled,"You tell me."
I didn't really know what to say after that, until the front door opened, and a very tired and grumpy looking Madison came out.
"What the hell Charlotte? I woke up to make some hot chocolate and you weren't there. I felt like there was a murder in the house." Madison said, causing the both of us to laugh.
"Sorry Maddie, but I couldn't really sleep, so I came out here just to get some fresh air. Then Liam showed up and we started talking for a bit." She lied about the first part.
"Okay, but why is Liam here at 3:30 in the morning?"
"I couldn't sleep either, so I came over here." I explained to her. She nodded.
"Okay, I'm going back to sleep now, if any of you wake me up, I swear to god I'm going to kick both of your asses." Madison said, before slamming the door shut.
