As soon as school let out Stephanie came right over.

"Hey" I answered the door excitedly.

"Hey yourself." She sounded confused.

"What's wrong?"

She shook her head, "I figured when you said you were taking a personal day it was because you were feeling sick or something...but you don't look sick, actually you look really good." She smiled

"Thanks, and I took the day off because I actually wasn't here."

"Did you leave after your party?" She asked.

I nodded, "Steph I have so freakin much to tell you, but first how was school?"

I could tell I had annoyed her but I only giggled as we got comfortable on the sofa. She told me about mild drama amongst classmates and a couple of tests we're going to have this week but not once did she bring up seeing Jace so I figured he hadn't gone to school today either.

"Okay girl now dish...what's going on with you?"

I couldn't hide the smile that seemed to instantly grow along my face, "I found my mate."

Her mouth popped open, "no freaking way, so obviously it isn't Jace since he hasn't come home yet."

I nodded (deciding to keep Jace's arrival to myself) "yeah, it all happens so fast...and when it happens, it's like you have no other thoughts in that moment except your mate. Of course the minute you look away from them everything clears up and you become a lot more rational...in my case I freaked out."

"Why, oh gosh is he some weirdo from another pack?"

"No he's handsome...its Dean." I finally admitted.

"Dean, oh Hun he's smoking!"

I bit my bottom lip as I recalled just how hot he truly was, "I know."

After that she suddenly realized what I had been dreading this whole time, "oh shit, what about Jace, he's gonna flip the fuck out when he not only finds out you have a mate, but more so that its Dean."

I nodded, "and I've been stressing this entire weekend, I don't know what I'm gonna do Steph, at least Dean and Jace don't have to see each other unless they go looking for one another."

She nodded.

She stayed and I ended up confessing to her how I'd tried to call things off with Jace twice now.

She agreed with Dean stating that I'd done my part and Jace needs to just accept it.

We talked for a little while longer before she ended up having to leave for the evening, she rode off just as the sun was beginning to set, I picked up my phone and decided I needed to get this over and done with.

I looked up Jace's contact info and pressed his number, I put the phone to my ear and listened as it rang.

It rang a total of four times before I was sent to voicemail, with a roll of my eyes I hung up and instead decided on grabbing something to eat before heading upstairs for the evening.

After dinner I found myself taking Dean's advice, I went out to the backyard in nothing but my robe. I was still more than self conscious about being out in the open fully naked, so I disrobed and quickly shut my eyes in an attempt to shift faster.
