"What are we doing here?"
I hear Jake say, then step in behind me.

"Getting the car in the back, and getting supplies."
I say and walk to the living room, then heading to the sunroom.

"Wait!.... You have a working car?!!"
I hear Rachel say and look at me.

"Yeah... I got lucky in the beginning."
I walk into the sunroom and grab Trey's AR, before shouldering another bag.

"Then where?"
Rachel says and opens the backdoor.

"The river."
I look at them two, before walking outside to the car and tossing the bags in.

"Why the river?"
Jake says and steps up to the backdoor.

"My mom might be there."
I look at them two and they just nod.

"Let's go."
Rachel says and gets in the passenger seat.

"Seriously, out of the two adults neither of you wanna drive?"
I look at them and laugh slightly, as I climb in the driver's seat.

They just kinda look at each other and shrug, before leaning back and getting comfortable.

I pull out, then look in the rearview mirror at Jake.
He's about 6'5, 250 pounds, and built like a soldier.
So, he wasn't lying about that.

"Rachel, I want you on watch. Tell me if you see any threats.
Jake, I want you to be ready with that rifle.
If we work together we're gonna be smart and coordinated, I don't want anyone to die, understand?"
I say and speed up as I pull onto the highway.

"Got it. You're in charge."
Rachel says and looks over at me.

"Jake? You good with that?"
I look in the mirror and ask him.

"No problems here, we just need to find a way to communicate long range."
Jake says and look at me in the mirror.

"Check the duffle bag, there's three radios with batteries. Tune them all to a secluded frequency. Also, hand me the black hoodie in there."
I say and look back at the road, then seeing that were a few miles from the river.

"Yes sir."
He says kinda sarcastically and hands me the hoodie.

"Rachel, grab the wheel."
I say and let go, before sliding the hoodie on.

"What the..."
Rachel says and grabs the wheel.
"Next time a little more warning asshole."
She says laughing.

"You got it, didn't you?"
I say and laugh back, before grabbing the wheel and putting the hood back.

"We're about a mile and a half away from the river, I'm gonna pull over up here."
I say and drive a little farther, before pulling over.
Getting out I open his door and take the radio he hands me.
I reach inside and get the scent neutralizer... Not knowing if it would work, but willing to try. I cover myself in it, before handing it to Rachel.
"Your turn."
I say and turn to Jake.

"They're tuned and ready to go."
He says, then grabs his rifle.

"Good... Are you guys ready? We have no idea what could be up here"
I say and turn towards them, before slinging on my rifle.

"Ready."
They say in unison.

"Let's go."
I pull out the radio and look at it.
"Just in case anyone is listening in.
Rachel, you're Alpha.
Jake, you're Bravo.
I'm Charlie.
Got it?"

"Got it."
They say together.

"Ok, Jake I want you to stay on the highway with the .22 rifle.
It's not much, but it's a long range weapon.
Rachel, I want you to take this side of the river. Stay in the trees and watch for threats.
I'm gonna be on the sandbank, where most of the time people sit."
I say and look at both of them.
