Kids.

"Boss, we're home."
Jake says as he opens the door.

I open my eyes slowly and look around, feeling strange yet so happy.
I look and my watch says it's 02:00.
"I have something I need to take care of."
I say and rub my eyes, waving as I walk away and back to our room.
I walk in and plop down on the couch, instantly closing my eyes and opening my mind.

"So, you figured out a part of it?
Bravo, not even Joe had made it that far.
I expected for something to happen, but I couldn't have dreamed that this would happen."
He says and walks around, inspecting me like I'm a trophy.
"Have you figured out what 'this' is?"
He says and puts up air quotes.

"You don't wanna kill me..."
I say and turn around, trying to make my mind stop racing.
"You wanted me kill your prodigy, you've wanted me to get Pure Dark Void and you want me to kill you."
I say and turn back to him.

He just stands there smiling.
"That's one answer I wanted, now tell me the next."
He says and smiles slightly as he watches me.

"What do you mean next answer?"
I ask and look over confused.

"About what your powers are....."
He says laughing and snaps, making a chair and appear before he sits down.

"Matter manipulation."
I say and look up at him.
"That doesn't make sense, because that's yours and Claire's power."
I say confused and start trying to figure this out.

"Like you said earlier, Matter can never be destroyed nor created, only changed."
He says and leans back.

"You're trying to turn me, trying to flood me with so much Pure Darkness, I have no choice to turn."
I say and look over at him, clenching my fists and watching him.

"Spot on."
He says giggling and looks up.
"The funny thing is, that's not even your only power."
He laughs and watches me.
"This is gonna be fun."
He says and disappears, before everything goes black.

I open my eyes and jerk awake, feeling my body pulse with power.

"Baby... you ok?"
Sydney asks and immediately sits down, offering me a bottled water.

I reach out and take it, leaning my head back and drinking all of it.
Feeling as if I just walked through a desert.

"Hey!"
She says and raises my face.
"Are you ok?"
She asks and makes me look in her eyes.

"I'm fine."
I say as I move my hands together, feeling as the body breaks down.

"They told me what happened.....
Or at least what they think happened."
She says and wipes the sweat from my forehead.

"I promise, I'm ok."
I say and lean forward, kissing your cheek gently.
I look down at my watch and see that it's 02:45.
"You need to get some sleep, Rosie and you must've been busy."
I say and hug her, feeling like this is the piece of humanity I have left.
Not something inside me, but this girl right here.
She's the one person who holds the last piece to my humanity, without even realizing it.

She smiles and kisses my head.
"You're right, get some sleep too."
She says and walks over to her bed, before laying down and instantly snoring.

I sit up slowly and look around, seeing that everyone but Jake is asleep.
I whistle slightly and point to the door, before getting up and walking out slowly.
Listening as Jake follows behind.

"Yeah boss?"
Jake says as he steps out and closes the door.

"You sleeping tonight?"
I ask and lean against the wall.
