The next day, Cole arrived at Halliwell Manor and braced himself to knock on the door.
He took a deep breath and knocked on the door.
Much to his surprise it was Colette who answered the door. She smiled at him nervously thinking that he was probably gonna be rude to her again and perhaps try to throw her out again. She decided it was probably best to try to stay on his good side.
"Hi.. I'm guessing your here for Phoebe?."
Cole shook his head in reply. "Actually, I'm here for you.. Can we talk?."Colette nodded nervously and stepped aside to let him in.
Cole walked past her and she shut the door behind him.
She turns around to look at him. "So.. Uh.. What can I do for you?."
He empties his throat. "Well.. Uh, I'm here to apologise actually for my behaviour yesterday."
Colette looked surprised at him. She was not expecting him to apologise. "Oh?.. There's really no need."
He nodded. "Yes there is, I behaved appalling towards you and for some strange reason Phoebe actually likes you so I'm doing this for her not for you."
Colette sighs. "Here is me thinking you was doing it to be nice."
Cole rolls his eyes at her. "Sarcasm seriously?.. I'm not exactly Mr Nice guy."
Colette snorts. "That's the understatement of a century."
He grins. "Well let's just say it goes with the Job."
Colette frowns. "Let me guess Your A police officer?."
He shook his head. "Close.. I'm a lawyer.. So unless you want a lawsuit and ending up in court.. I strongly suggest you do not hurt my wife."
Colette nodded. "Likewise.. I wouldn't do anything to hurt her and neither should you."
Cole decided the conversation was over and walked past her exiting the manor slamming the door hard.
Colette sighs "Well someone threw a hissy fit.. Phoebe is not gonna like this one bit.. Then again should I actually tell her?."
Colette shook her head and decided to keep that conversation to herself because she didn't want to inflame the situation because it was bad enough already.
Usually she wasn't a good judge of character but she could tell Cole was a bad apple from the first moment she met him but she decided she would give him a second chance because clearly Phoebe saw something in him that she didn't.
Besides Everyone deserves second chances don't they?.
Later that day...
Phoebe walked into the manor from work.
She finds Colette in the kitchen."Hey has Cole been over today?."
Colette nodded. "He apologised.. Like you asked him to.."
Phoebe frowned. "He said that?."
Colette walked towards her. "Yeah.. He basically said that he was only apologising for you."
Phoebe walked around exasperatedly. "I can't believe him!.. I asked him to do one thing!.. One!"
Colette shrugs. "He was quite rude and well I don't think I helped much.."
Phoebe sighs. "It's not your fault honey.. It's him."
Colette groans. "I hate the fact it's destroying your relationship."
Phoebe places her hand on Colette's shoulder. "Honey, it'll only be destroyed.. If we let it.."
Colette nodded. "I hope your right."
Phoebe grinned. "Of course I am.. I am an advice columnist after all.. Now excuse me.. I have to call my husband.."
As Phoebe leaves Colette mumbles under her breath. "That girl is so better off without him after all he's the one doing the destroying.. It must come naturally to him."
She decided to find out more about him and go to the library.. "There must be something that I can talk to him about, that would actually get him to be nicer to me."
So she had a plan to visit the Library tomorrow morning. It wasn't much of a plan but she decided it was better than doing nothing.
