School was soon over and all that was on Colette's mind was the ball and Cole of course.

Even though he had done something nice for her by giving her that dress she just couldn't ignore the mixed feelings inside of her.

Was it butterflies or something more sinister? The truth was from the beginning when Cole had suggested this insane idea she knew that it wouldn't work.

But somewhere inside of her she desperately wanted it to work. She knew this was crazy and knew that she was right the first time when she thought this ridiculous plan wouldn't work.

Of course the truth was ever since she arrived in this strange wierd place.. What happened back in that penthouse has never been far from Colette's thoughts.

She could see them.. Her children every time she closed her eyes. She could hear their screams echo as the fire takes hold.

Krista was anxiously shaking her. "Hello earth to Colette..."

Colette blinked finally back in the present and left the past behind for the moment anyway.

"Sorry Krista I was miles away.. You were saying?."

Krista rolled her eyes at her. "I was saying we should hurry up and get home to get ready for the ball don't you?."

Colette sighed. "It's not really a ball it's a celebratory thing for the school being 50 years or something.. I mean how stupid is that celebrating something that isn't even alive like us.. It's just a stupid building."

Krista grinned at her. "That stupid building is important to some people including traditions.. I guess that's what makes us human.."

Colette looked at her sarcastically. "Well, it's a good job that I'm not human then isn't it.. After all I ended up with a demon rather than a boring old mortal who probably happens to be a banker or something..I reckon I did pretty well..If I say so myself."

Krista looked at her with daggers. "Ha ha.. So us boring Mortal's aren't good enough for you?..Besides I though you hated the guy."

Colette nodded. "Believe me I do but if you knew the things this guy has put me through.. You would understand my anger too.."

Krista places her hand on Colette's shoulder. "I know.. But if I were you I wouldn't take it out on everyone else."

Colette hung her head. "You're right.. I'm sorry I just get carried away sometimes."

Krista grinned. "That's okay.. You're forgiven.. Now let's go and get ready for the party of our lives."

A few hours later Colette was sat on a chair in their bedroom dressed in her blue gingham dress whilst her sister was brushing her hair.

Colette frowned in the mirror. "You know what.. I'm not really feeling this."

Krista looked at her in the mirror alarmed. "Woah.. You're not backing out on me are you?."

Colette turned around and grinned. "Of course not.. You can relax.. I'm just considering changing my dress that's all.. It just doesn't feel right when I'm so mad with him.. If you wasn't here I probably wouldn't have gone."

Krista nodded understanding. "Okay so what you gonna wear instead?."

Colette stood up. "Wait there, I'll be right back."

She left to the back of the room with a divider shielding her giving her privacy.

A few minutes later she came out with a completely different dress.
