That cold misty night Colette had trouble sleeping yet again. At first she couldn't work it out..
"Ergh.. Why can't I get to sleep?.."
Colette pulls her pillowcase from under her and places it on her face.
She listened carefully.. She heard no noise apart from Percy and Tyson's snoring..
"Ergh.. Sharing a cabin with boys sucks.. I may as well be in the Aphrodite cabin.."
She went in there earlier that day for inspection with Annabeth. She remembered what it was like.
It was a wooden cabin with a painted blue roof, pillars, checkerboard deck with steps and gray walls. and smells heavily of designer perfume.
"Well at least they were all girls.."
It just occurred to her that maybe Cole had got inside her head.. Not magically but his words echoed in her brain. "I could make all the monsters go away If I wanted to.."
She sat up in her hammock thinking.. "Maybe I should just humour him.. I want life to be as easy as possible but on the other hand Percy and the others could be jealous if the monsters don't go after me."
She bites her lip carefully considering his offer. "Maybe I should just Join him?"
Eventually she decided she would talk to him the next morning to figure it out.. Somehow anyway.
She closed her eyes and managed to get to sleep.
Suddenly she dreamt of Cole.
It was Cole and her in the future both of them holding hands dressed in black. It was Cole's coronation and Colette was to be his queen.
She woke up with a start in sweats praying and hoping that this wouldn't come true. She remembered Percy telling her that dreams become more vivid when demigods were in camp or in battle.
She sighs. "I've gotta talk to this guy sooner rather than later.."
Eventually she manages to get back to sleep.
