Chapter 30

The air was filled with silence with Colette and Cole looking at each other awkwardly.

Neither of them knew what to say or how on earth to start this conversation.

Chiron bowed. "I'll uh leave you two to it."

Chiron galloped away leaving them both alone.

Colette and Cole circled each other almost like they were expecting the other to attack. But colette was mainly doing it because she was angry.

"What are you doing here Cole?."

He smirked. "What do you think I'm doing here?."

Thoughts ran through Colette's head. "I really hate it when he speaks in riddles expecting you to work it out yourself."

Then suddenly a lightbulb moment. She figured out why he was here.

"It was you.. You ordered Poseidon to send the Minotaur after me."

He nodded. "You're smarter than you look."

She frowned. "How did you get here anyway?."

He shrugged. "Same way as you.. Poseidon showed me the way."

She frowns. "So why are you here?.."

Cole sighs. "I'm the reason your here Colette."

Colette nodded. "I know that.. I'm trying to figure out whether that's a good thing or a bad thing."

He laughed. "Depends on your prospective.. That's of you're willing to trust me?"

She bit her lip. "How do I know this isn't all a ploy to stab me in the back?.. If you wanted rid of me all you had to do was ask."

He nodded. "And would you have left?.."

Colette shrugged. "Probably not but I guess we'll never know."

He stepped toward her. "I'm the one that can protect you from the monsters like the Minotaur."

Colette snorted. "You're the one that sent them in the first place."

He grinned. "Excellent point.. But I can also send them away if I wanted to.. "

Colette turned her back on him. "I'm not interested."

He sighed. "Colette I don't want to fight with you on this.. Maybe I should just be honest."

She turns around with her eyebrow raised. "Go on.."

He took a deep breath. "I'm only here and asking you to do this because I want you on my team."

Colette snorts. "I'm guessing this isn't some superhero team your talking about."

He shook his head. "If you already know then why are you being sarcastic."

She rolls her eyes at him. "No thanks..I'm not interested in joining.."She puts her hands up in the air to make quotation marks. "Team Demon."

He smiles. "You will.. Or I'll make life very difficult for you."

She grabs him by the collar. "A little piece of advice Cole.. I don't respond well to threats."

He nodded and flamed out, Leaving Colette alone.
