Another day started in Scotland. The sun will always rise on the good and the bad. It was the holidays, no school, the whole day to have fun, but Terry wasn't in the mood to have fun. He was still thinking about Candy and prince euro trash. He was not in a good mood. He showered, went downstairs and found the whole family having breakfast.

- Good morning everybody! Said Terry

- Good morning Terry, said everybody

- What are your plans for the day? Asked Terry

- I intended to spend the day with Jones, after their summer course, said Ashley

- And I'm going to be in front of my computer waiting for Patrick, said Allyson

- I'm going to keep Aunt Elroy company, said Ashley

- I'm going to go for a walk, said Terry

- You're going to see Candy? Asked Allyson

- No

- What's going on? Asked Ashley, trouble in paradise?

- Something like that, said Terry

Terry stood up to leave the dining room. He went to his bedroom to take the book of "Romeo and Juliet" he had found. He opened the book and saw some notes on a sheet of paper and he realized that the book belonged to Candy.

"There's a good reason to go to her place... she's probably looking for her book... even if she's with prince euro trash."

Je put the book in a plastic bag and took it with him. He went to the stables to see the horses. He thought about Antonia, he thought about Candy... and her euro trash prince. He took a horse and went for a ride in the woods. He got to the lake. He stopped and got down. He picked up some rocks, sat on the grass and started to throw them in the lake with anger... He was throwing the rock, imagining it was prince euro trash...

- Looks like you're very upset, said a voice with the British accent

Terry turned around and saw a young girl with brown hair, who was smiling at him. She was standing in front of a horse. She was wearing a horse riding suit.

- Good morning, she said

- Good morning, said Terry standing up

- Someone upset you?

- Only some euro trash prince, said Terry

- Euro trash prince?

- A real prince with royal blood... how can I compete with him...?

- A prince stole your girlfriend?

- How did you guess? Said Terry smiling

- You have a beautiful smile...

Terry couldn't help blushing... the young lady was flirting with him.

- Your smile is not bad either, Miss...

- Ferguson, Victoria Ferguson...

- Like the famous Queen...

- No family ties with Queen Victoria

- Good. Because the last thing I need for the moment, is to meet another member of the royal family!

- You have nothing to fear from me! Said Victoria smiling, is that your horse

- Yes...

- Very beautiful specimen

- You know horses?

- My father wanted me to know how to ride as soon as I was able to walk... By the way, you still haven't given me your name Master...

- Andrew, Terrence Andrew

- Terrence, I like that name, I like pronouncing it...

Terry burst out laughing with the girl. One lost, ten more found, there's plenty more fish in the sea. If he wanted to replace Candy... But he had to talk to her first and she if she was just playing with him, like her father was saying...

- I like saying your name too; Victoria... but...

- You did way your girlfriend was with a prince now, right?

- Yes, but... I haven't talked to her yet...

- Who told you about it?

- Her father...

- He mustn't like you very much if he gives you that kind of information instead of covering for his daughter...

- But I'm going to give het the benefit of the doubt, said Terry

- She's very lucky...

- A lot of relationships got broken because of misunderstandings... but I can appreciate the presence of a beautiful young lady...Miss Ferguson

Victoria smiled.

- All right. You can call me Victoria

- And you can call me Terry

- You want to spend some time with me?

- Doing what?

- There are a lot of things to do here...

- Ok...

Terry spent the day with Victoria. They went to the market, they bought food; hot dogs, corn dogs, sugar Candy, slushies. There were also some games and some sort of amusement park. They went on some rides... they had a lot of fun. Terry forgot about Candy and prince euro trash during all that time. Ti was the afternoon now, Victoria had to go.

- I've had a great time with you Terrence, she said

- Me too, he said smiling

She approached him and kissed him on the lips. He didn't push her back; he held her closer and responded to her kiss.

- That's for keeping me company, she said smiling

She went to get her horse to leave.

- Hey wait! How do I see you again?

- I'll find you

- But...

Victoria got on her horse and she left. Terry wanted to invite her for dinner, speechless. He took the road back home to the castle, but he wind up towards the Grandchester castle and there, he saw a scene: Candy was at the gate yelling at Eleonor Baker, her mother! This last one was in tears, begging her to forgive her.

- It's a little late for your maternal instinct to kick in! Said Candy, I don't want to see you!

- Candy, please, said Eleonor

- No! Where were you when I needed you? When my stepmother from hell was making me suffer? Get away from me!

Terry couldn't take it anymore. He got off his horse and approached mother and daughter.

- CANDY! He yelled out loud

Candy looked at him surprised to see him. But she was in the middle of a discussion with her mother, so she was very upset.

- This is none of your business, sapphire eyes, stay out of it! She said

- When you talk to your mother like that, it's my business! Miss Freckles!

- How is it your business?

- "Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you."

- The fifth commandment?

- It's the most important one, and it's followed by a promise from God... I you don't want to live longer, I want you to!!!

- How nice of you to care about my well being

- And you should be ashamed of yourself... Haven't they taught you better in religion?

He looked around and he saw that people were starting to gather around to listen to what was going on.

- I think we better go inside to finish this conversation, away from the public eyes, he said opening the gate door.

He got in with his horse and he took Eleonor's hand and got in with her. Candy followed them against her will. Terry tied up his horse to a tree and took the plastic bag with the Romeo & Juliet book inside. They all went to the living room. There was a silence.

- I'm going to make some tea, said Terry, in the mean time, you two talk! You're mother and daughter! You have no idea how lucky you are!

Terry got out of the living room and went to the kitchen to ask to the help to make some tea for Miss Candy and her guests. He was surprised to see the house empty. What a change from the day before. The cook, who had hot water on the stove for every circumstance, made a tray with tea and a plate of cookies.

- There you go, young man. Are you going to be ok, carrying that? She asked

- I'll be fine, thank you, said Terry taking the tray

When he got to the living room, he found Candy and her mother arguing again. He had a sigh.

- That's enough! Both of you!

- Terry, you can't understand! Said Candy

- I can't understand what? Said Terry, pouring the tea in the cups, that you have a mother who wants to be a part of your life and that you're refusing?

- But...

- My mother left me on the doorstep of an orphanage and never looked back!!!

- Terry...

- I had 2 educators that I call "mommy" who raised me, but there were other children too... I wish I had my own mother, just for me! You two look alike...

He took the Romeo & Juliet book he had put on a little table...

- Look...

He opened the book and show them a few pages...

- Candy agrees with all your suggestions...

Candy looked down.

- If my mother showed up at my doorstep and wanted a relationship with me, I would hug her hard before she could say: " Forgive me"

There was a silence. Terry was walking to the door.

- I'm going to leave you... You two make up! Candy, forgiveness is good for the soul... "Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those ..."

- "...who trespass against us...", Candy continued

- Those religion lessons... it's time to apply them... Miss Baker...

And he left. Candy stayed with her mother. It was funny; all it took was the right person to tell us what we need for us to listen...

- I remember, I was little on a boat, with daddy and we were looking at the people go and a woman was running and calling out my name... I asked if it was you...

Candy was standing beside her father on the deck of the boat.

- Daddy look, it's mummy, said Candy

- Yes, said the duke

- But does she want to come with us?

- No, she'll come later, honey

- CANDY!!! Yelled Eleonor, my baby! CANDY!!!

Eleonor tripped and fell...

- Mummy! Mummy fell daddy...

- She's going to be fine honey, she has to work and she'll join us later

- Ok...

Candy made some hand signs to Eleonor.

- Bye mummy! I love you, she said

The boat left and her mother's image started to shade away...she couldn't see her anymore.

- I waited for you... for months and months, you never came, said Candy in tears, instead of them, I got the stepmother from hell, like Snow-White...

- Please forgive me honey, said Eleonor, I'm here now...

Candy approached her mother and hugged her hard, crying, she had missed her so much... She missed the motherly love. She was abandoned, but she had another chance with her mother, as opposed to Terry... Yes, he was right, she was lucky and she was behaving like a spoiled brat. She took advantage of her mother's presence. They talked, talked and talked, during dinner... they spend the night together in bed talking and they fell asleep in each other's arms.

oOoOoOoOoOo

Terry went back home just in time

- Terry, said Allyson, where were you? With the other, we were hoping to see you...

- I was riding around, like I told you, said Terry

- Alone? Asked Ashley

- I didn't say that...

- With whom? Lady Candy? You two made up?

- In a way, said Terry vaguely, I'm going to go change for dinner...

Terry went upstairs to wash up and get ready for dinner. He thought about his day... about Victoria, about Candy... He was hoping she made up with her mother. He had a smile on his face. Something told him Candy had listened to him: he felt their connection and they understood each other without having to spell it out...

And the most important, there was no prince euro trash in view...
