Chapter 39"An exciting day"

The next day, Terry woke up in a good mood. He missed Candy. He wanted to see her, so he got ready to go out. He went downstairs and was served breakfast in the kitchen. The great aunt didn't like him to eat in the kitchen, but Terry didn't have the time to wait for the rest of the family to wake up. He had a big breakfast, talking with the staff. Terry was having fun trying to understand their Scottish accent.

- Your accent is very cute, Mr. Terry

- Yours is not bad either... I got used to the British accent of London

- The cockney?! That's a dreadful accent!

- I agree, said Terry laughing

He stood up to get out. He wanted to take a horse, but he decided to walk. The others got up and they got ready to have breakfast.

- Hello Terry, said Ashley, you're coming boating with us?

- Boating? Sounds like a yacht, they're little boats, barks, said Allyson

- No thank you, I'm going to go for a walk in town, said Terry

- You want some company? Asked Eliza

- No thank you, said Terry I'd rather be alone. See you later...

- Terry, said Allyson, you barely spend any time with us...

- He prefers the company of Lady Candy! Said Ashley

- If she's not busy with her princes, said Eliza upset to have been rejected by Terry; I heard that Prince Andrea is in the area... I'm sure Lady Candy rather have the company of her princes...

- Than Oliver Twist's, said Neil with disdain.

Terry didn't reply at Neil's provocation, as usual, he only talked to him when it's absolutely necessary...which practically never happens...

- I'll see you later girls, said Terry going out

Eliza and Neil reminded her that Candy had, indeed, bigger fish to fry... But he had seen her with her mother... there was no euro trash prince in view... He found himself no to far from Candy. He sat down on the grass and he was thinking about her... Victoria!! She had kissed him and he responded to the kiss... What the hell was he doing thinking about another girl? While Candy was with her prince euro trash, he was also in good company yesterday ... and he felt a little guilty to have spent the day with Victoria...

- Oh Candy, you're going to drive me crazy! Oh Candy he said out loud

- Is that my name I'm hearing? It's usually someone else's name you mumble...
Terry lifted his head and crossed Candy's emerald eyes.

- Milady, said Terry smiling

He gave her his right arm, she gave him her left arm. He pulled her to him and she landed on his chest. He put his lips on hers. After Victoria, he wanted to kiss her, because not only he was dying to do it ever since he arrived in Scotland, but he wanted to erase the memory of Victoria... They kissed passionately for a while and when they stopped, they were breathless.

- I missed you, said Terry

- I missed you too

- How did it go with your mother?

- Yes, we were able to make up, because of you. Thank you...

- You're lucky to have a mom just for you...

- I know that, because of you... You've got an adoptive mother...

- That I've never seen...

- You know for some of us, that's normal...we're sent to boarding school; we're sent elsewhere for the holidays....

- I will never understand that! When I have children, there's no way I wills send them to boarding school! I'm an orphan. My two mommies did everything so we could feel like a family and the atmosphere was very happy. The Reagan's was the house from hell, I stayed because I didn't want to give up at the first difficulty... school was a very good private school and with my grades, I deserved that kind of education... anyway... when I have kids, I'm going to keep them with me. I'm not going to abandon them on the doorstop of an orphanage...

- At least your parents understood they couldn't take care of you... For me, it's better to go to boarding school because they want peace at home

- You'd like to be an orphan?

- Compare to what I went through? I think your childhood is happy, I wish I had that... I envy you!

He pulled her to him and kissed her again... they spend their time smooching. They heard some noise. Since they were on the edge of the cliff, they went to see what was going on. They saw their friends on barks, two by two; the couples together, Neil and Eliza were together.
Neil looked up and he saw Terry with Candy and he got jealous. He stood up to get a better view.

- Neil, sit down, said Eliza, you're going to make us go overboard!

- I want to see who's with Oliver Twist!

- It's Lady Candy! Who do you think it is?

- I thought she busy with her princes...

- I admit I'd rather have Terry's company...

- Shut up!

- And because of you, I will never get my chance! I had him under my roof and you had to ruin it for me!

He hit the boat with his foot, forgetting he was on a bark, and then went overboard... He fell in the water with his sister. He was so surprised, it took him a few seconds to realize he was in the water, ten thousand things came to his mind, he yelled moving like crazy... Eliza was yelling at him calling him names...

Candy saw Neil in the water moving like crazy and without another thought, she took her shoes off and dived into the water, thinking he was drowning Terry didn't the time to stop her, she was already in the water, swimming towards Neil to save him... Terry shook his head. Lady Candy has a heart of gold, despite the image she gave of herself... His heart was filled of love for her. He took her sandals and went to join the others by the lake. Candy had taken Neil on the shore. They were standing and Neil took advantage to hug Candy very hard.

- Oh thank you Lady Candy! You saved my life! He said trying to kiss her on the cheek
Candy seemed uneasy and she pushed him away with all her strength and freed herself. Neil was so surprised; he wasn't expecting to be pushed away so abruptly, he almost fell, losing his balance.

Candy walked to Terry to take her sandals and put them back on.

- Lady Candy, said Neil, you want me to go walk you home so you can change? You saved my life after all...

- Oh stop it Neil! Said Allyson, you can swim...

- You can swim? Said Candy surprised

- Well, I was disoriented, I could've drowned...

- I'm going back home, said Candy

- I can come? Asked Neil

- No, I can't have people over without notice... and I have nothing to give you so you can change... You'd better go home before you catch a cold... I'm going to go before I catch a cold myself
She left there, almost running, leaving Terry perplexed. Her t-shirt was wet; her designer jean was sticking to her body. Her t-shirt was showing the voluptuous shape of her breast and Neil was only too happy to hug Lady Candy in his arms.

- She seemed in a hurry to leave you Neil, said Ashley with a mocking voice

- Learning that she soaked herself for nothing, must've cool her down, said Allyson

- To the point she was so disgusted, she forgot about her dear Terrence! Said Eliza ironically
Eliza was glad and Neil too. Terry understood that Candy was in a hurry to go back home to change, but she could've given him a nod or something... But he could've followed her... But she didn't ask him... At the point where they were, he didn't need an invitation... She didn't even look at him!

While he was thinking, a young lady on a horse arrived, and came near them

- Terrence? She said, hello!

- Victoria! Said Terry smiling

- You want to come and ride with me?

- I don't have a horse...

- I have one, said Victoria with a soft voice

Terry looked at her smiling.

- Victoria, let me introduce you to my cousins, Allyson, Ashley, Eliza and her bother Neil. And here are my friends, Patrick and Jones... guys this is Victoria Ferguson, a friend...

- Hello, said Victoria smiling

- Hello, said the other, baffled

- So you're coming Terrence? Said Victoria giving him her hand

Terry took her hand, put his foot in the stirrup and sad behind Victoria smiling. They left together galloping... The others looked at them go astonished.

- Incredible! Said Jones

- You think he knows who she is ?Asked Patrick

- I don't think so, said Jones

- Not possible! Said Neil upset, how does he do it?

- One lost, 10 found! Said Allyson laughing

- And what a find! Said Eliza

- He's lucky! Said Ashley

- Oh shut up! Said Neil, you didn't lift the finger to help me! I'm going to tell the great aunt!

- Leave us alone Neil, said Allyson, it's not like you didn't know how to swim!

- Yeah! Especially you took advantage to hug Lady Candy, said Allyson

- Enjoy 10 seconds of fame and leave us alone! Said Eliza upset

Her and her brother went back to the castle arguing. The others went for a walk.

Candy was at her castle washing her hair, cursing Neil Reagan... the bloody bastard knew how to swim and she has jumped in the water to save someone who didn't need it. She has left without looking at terry. Her t-shirt was wet and was sticking to her body and showing the form of her breast. She didn't want to be looked at... she didn't want Terry to see her in that less than glorious state. She was hoping he followed her, but he stayed there with his cousins and his friends...She'll have to contact him... to apologies for leaving without talking to him... apologise... Usually guys begged her for attention and now she was thinking about apologizing! After the way they had kissed, she assumed he was going to follow her... she finished washing her hair and started to blow dry it. Her cell phone rang. Candy was happy to see that she had left it home, so it didn't get wet with her failed attempt to save Neil. Maybe it was Terry, she thought all hopeful...

- Candy?

- Dad?

It wasn't Terry!

- I need you tonight...

- No dad, you promised...

- I wouldn't have called you if it wasn't important...

- I have other plans...

She was thinking about going to see Terry and apologise and continue their smooching session...

- It can wait... it's important

- Is it about your contract with Monaco?

- Yes...

- Daddy...

- You know I can be very generous...

- That is not the point... I have to see my boyfriend...

The duke remembered Terry and he regretted finding out he didn't chase him away... Candy didn't have time for school girl's love stories... she's going to marry a prince...

They were galloping together to her castle which was of course, majestic. They went to the stables to leave the horse and she took Terry by the hand and they walked together to the big garden. There were a lot of people at Victoria's...
