Chapter 72 "Quid pro quo?" Part 72

Terry was with his parents and his daughter, at first, he didn't hear the phone ring. The atmosphere was so full of joy and emotion, a the birth of a new love for this new family, finally reunited. Esther was the one who heard Terry's phone ring.

- Daddy, your phone is ringing... it's probably mummy. She must be wondering where we ar.

Terry finally heard his phone, thanks to his daughter's remark. He took his cellphone and looked at the display, it was indeed Candy calling him.

- You're right sweetie, it's your mommy..., he said smiling, Juliet? Are you all right?

- I'm fine Romeo, where are you?

- I told you we came to see Sandra...

- Is everything all right?

- Everything is fine everything is perfect, I should say!

- You seem on cloud nine

- I have a something to tell you

- What?

- Not on the phone. Esther and I are coming back to tell you...

- Let me talk to Esther

- All right.

He gave his daughter the phone.

- Mommy wants to talk to you.

The little one took the phone and smiled.

- Hello mummy? Said the little one, are you all right?

- I'm fine honey

- And Billy is fine?

- Billy? Oh the baby? Yes, he's fine too. I miss you.

- I miss you too. We're coming soon. We have a great news to tell you!

- How intriguing your father and you better come back quickly to tell me about it!

- I love you mummy. See you later.


- I love you honey. Give me back your daddy.


- All right. See you later mummy.

She gave the phone back to Terry who talked to Candy for a little bit. Sandra and Henry were looking at him. They were thinking about the duke's condition.

- Looks like he's with Esther's mummy, said Sandra

- What? He never told you about her? Asked Henry

- In fact, since he was with Esther, and never talked about her mother, I said to myself that they were probably not together anymore... and that's it was probably a touchy subject, so I didn't ask questions...

Terry finished talking to Candy.

Sandra and Henry looked at each other. Terry was done talking to Candy.

- And I'm happy to have my mummy and daddy back together! Said Esther smiling

- Well you can come with us at the hospital, said Esther

Terry looked at his parents.

- You can come with us.

- Good, because I really don't feel like letting you go without me, sais Sandra smiling

Terry smile and everybody left the suite to go to the hospital. During the ride, they were talking about their reunion and the joy they felt being together.
They arrive at the hospital and the smell of disinfectant and the usual heavy feeling didn't affect them at all.

When they got close to Candy's room, Esther started running to get into her mother's room.

- We're back mummy! She yelled as a greeting

Candy's eyes were illuminated with joy when she saw her little girl. She gave her a beautiful smile and reached out to her with her arms. Candy got close to the bed, Candy took her in her arms and hugged her.

- I'm so happy to see you! She said, where's your daddy?

- He's on his way...

At the same moment, Terry got in the room followed by Sandra and Henry.

- Hello, said Candy smiling

Terry approached her and kissed her on the lips.

- Are you all right my darling ? He asked

- I'm very well, than you, even if I'm bored to death

- Billy is moving mummy, said Esther laughing

Then, she turned to Terry to ask him:

- Can I tell her daddy? Asked Esther

Candy looked at her little girl's face who looked so much like her.

- Sandra and Henry are daddy's parents!

Candy thought she heard her wrong.

- You heard her right, said Terry, Sandra and Henry are my parents.

And now, mummy was saying that she was married with daddy without telling her.

- Wait a minute, said Esther, mummy? Daddy? You're married?

She had opened her big green eyes with stupor.

- Yes honey, said Candy smiling

- Oh my God! That's wonderful! Thank you Jesus!

She jumped to her mother's neck then her father.

Marlowe, on the other hand, was not happy at all.

- How could you have lied to me like that? I was making plans for us!

- Marlowe you knew I loved Terry... by forcing to get rid of Esther, you didn't mark any points with me, at all.

- You were married! You had no intention of staying with me forever!

- My wife has a heart of gold. Her presence by your side seemed to appease you, said Terry, but seriously, having a woman who doesn't love you with you for life, can't be your dream...

- You trusted her? You were sure she wasn't going to do anything with me?

Terry looked at Candy.

- I trusted our love, he finally said

A nurse arrived to examine Candy.

- Oh, you have a lot of visitors. Can you wait in the hallway please, she said I have to examine the patient.

Everybody got out except for Terry and Esther.

Marlowe was sulking, he wanted to stay with Candy in the room.

He went out, against his will. He had freed Candy, but to see Terry that possessif with her was hurting his heart a lot.

- Marlowe, she loves her husband, let her be happy. You love her, don't you?

- Of course I love her...

- Love also means wanting the other person to be happy, even without us...
