I lay in bed, staring at the ceiling, tears streaming down my face. I'd been crying all night since I hung up on Austin. I didn't want to let this bother me, and at first it didn't but the more I thought about it the more it bothered me.
Now, don't get me wrong, I still love him more than anything, and I always will love him more than anything. But there's something that's different. Since we've gotten back together there's been a distance between us. We didn't hang out at all really, and then he tells me he's leaving for Miami.
I pick up my phone and stare at my screen saver, not on purpose, I'm sure I had something I really wanted to see in my phone, but we look so happy on my screen and I just don't know what to do anymore.
I make a series of rash decisions and before I know it, I'm outside of Austin's mansion in Miami, beating on the door as if my life depended on it. The door swings open, a tired Austin answering the door, rubbing his eyes as he yawns.
I jump onto him, my legs wrapping around his waist, arms around his shoulders as I cry into his neck "Why are you crying?" He asks groggily, his hand rubbing slow circles on my back.
"I'm sorry" I sob, and he kisses my cheek.
"How about we talk about this in the morning? It's late" He mumbles against my cheek, carrying me up the steps to his room. He lays me down on the bed and lays down beside me, pulling the covers over us "Go to sleep Baby" He kisses my nose.
"Okay" I nod "Goodnight"
"Goodnight" He yawns, wrapping an arm around my waist, pulling me into him. I fall asleep quickly, and when I wake up the bed is empty.
I sit up in his bed, yawning and wiping my eyes, swinging my legs over the edge of the bed and getting off of it, tying my hair into a ponytail before walking out of Austin's room.
I slowly walk down the steps, following the scent of bacon and pancakes, seeing Austin standing at the stove in the kitchen.
"Good morning" He kisses my lips softly.
"Morning" I yawn, and he chuckles.
"I made breakfast"
"Hmm, I see that" I hum, sitting at his kitchen island. He sits a plate down in front of me, before sitting across from me, pouring syrup along his pancakes. I take a bite out of the food and giggle "It's good, but mine are better" I tease, and he rolls his eyes playfully.
"I doubt that, but it's whatever you believe" He chuckles. Most of breakfast is silent and after he goes to take a shower while I put the dishes in the dishwasher, walking to his living room to sit on the couch.
"So, you're here" Austin sits down beside me, laying his head in my lap.
"So, I'm here"
"Does Rosa know you're here?" He asks and I shake my head "Okay, so why are you here?" He asks, and I shrug.
"It was a spur of the moment kind of thing" I answer, though it isn't the whole truth.
"But, what made you decide this is where you wanted to be?"
"I felt bad, I guess" I shrug, and he nods.
"Okay" He drawls out "Why?"
"You're asking a lot of questions" I chuckle, and he shrugs.
"Just curious"
"About?"
"How you go from basically admitting you didn't want to be with me anymore, to showing up to see me at 3 am in a completely different state. It just makes no sense" He shakes his head.
