Chapter 44:

Leah's Pov:

"Sammy's down, and Greg's passed out." I say and sit on the chair, across from Chad.

"Thats good." He smiles and looks at his feet.

His head rises and he looks at me; not saying a word.

"I missed you too." I blurt out and wish I hadn't said them.

His face brightens and his eyes look like theyre gonna pop out.

Wasnt expecting that was he?

"Im sorry." He whispers and stands up.

"Chad?"

He turns towards me, and sighs.

"Please dont leave me. I need you." I whisper.

He sits down and I knew what I needed to do.

I got up and walked to him , straddling his lap.

"What are you-"

I smashed my lips on him, the sparks, the butterflies all exploding.

He took a minute to respond, but when he did, I swear to god, it was the best feeling in the world.

I pulled away slowly and stared into his eyes.

"I love you." I whispered and pecked his lips.

"I love you." He smiles and bites his bottom lip.

I laid my forehead on his.

Could this get any better?

Niall's Pov:

"Horan, you have a visitor."

I sigh and get out of bed. Who would be here for me? I've been here for almost a month, and nobody has came around.

I put on my white shirt and followed the guard to my 'visitor.'

I smiled when I saw it was Leah and Sammy, and Greg.

"Hi." Leah smiles and hugs me with one arm.

"Hi." I say.

"How are you?" She asks and hands me Greg. He was sleeping, so I was careful not to wake him.

"Uh, not so good." I sigh.

"Why?"

"Look where I am, love." I chuckle.

"Didnt you have a choice?"

"Not much." He shrugs.

"I miss you- we miss you."

"I miss you too, babygirl." I say and kiss her forehead lightly.

"Hows mum?" I ask.

"Shes..." she stays silent, looking at me with big blue scared eyes.

"Leah, whats wrong?" I ask softly.

"Mums in a coma, and may not wake up for a long... Long time." She whispers.

I felt a pang of pain hit my chest and automatically I started crying.

"Shhh.... Its gonna be okay." She whispers and holds me.

This should be the other way around.

This shouldnt be happening.

Maddie in the hospital,

Me in jail,

Leah with a baby, and her little sister,

Where did our 'family' go?

"Im sorry daddy." She whispers again and gives me a squeeze.

I wanted everything back.

From where Maddie was smiling and laughing, to Leah being a little girl, and me, wishing for nothing but that.

Why couldnt I have that?

Oh wait, shit happens, and life goes on.

But there is no way in hell, ill ever, ever, forget that feeling I had , when I knew my family, would be there for me. And that feeling I got/get when Maddie says she loves me.

I will never forget what happened.

I will always remember my baby girls, my grandson, and my wife. Because I love them.

And after being dark, and dangerous... And so,.. Alone for long, I noticed something.

I need to change.

And I would do it for my family.

I was going to change,- and be the father Leah and Sammy need, and the husband Maddie's been wishing for.

When she said, 'Please Change,' I never understood what she meant,

But now I do. She wanted me to change, and its weird how I Never thought that would happen. But its gonna. And I will prove to Maddie and my daughters that I do love them, and I would take a bullet for them.
