Chapter 56:

Maddie's Pov:

"When the hell are they gonna be home?!" Nialls voice booms..

"Soon." I say.

"Why would she do that?"

Chad shrugs and he looks heartbroken.

"Chad, you know she didnt want to do it."

"I understand that. But the fact that she did it anyways after you told her not to Is what bothers me..." He says and stares at his folded hands.

"Are you.... Gonna break up with her?"

"No. I'm gonna need a break though. I'M going back to London to visit my parents for about a week and then we'll talk."

I nod and hear a car door slam, knowing shes back.

The door opens and her makeup is running down her face.

"Leah! Are you okay?"

"I'm fine." She whispers and coughs.

"Did you let him do it?" Chad asks and her eyes dart to him.

"No." She says.

Chads face brightens when she says that and he smiles a little bit.

"What happened?" Niall asks, surprisingly not yelling.

"He practically tried to rape me." She whispers and starts to cry.

"I'm still leaving." Chad whispers to me and I nod in understanding.

"He- uncle Louis slammed the door open and I ran for it." She explains.

"I called him honey."

"I know." She mumbles and sighs.

"Where's Greg?"

"In bed. Go shower and you and Chad can talk." I say and kiss her forehead. She nods and leaves the room leaving me , chad and Niall alone.

"How do you feel?" Niall asks Chad.

"Like shit. I know since she almost got raped that I shouldn't leave, but I can't stay."

"Well we're leaving tomorrow so you wanna leave then?" Niall asks.

"Yeah." He nods and I can see he's unsure whether or not to do this.

"It'll all be okay." I sigh.

"Yea, I know." He nods and bites his lip.

Leah's POV:

Have you ever felt so broken?

Like everything around you is your fault?

That's me. The broken one.

I cried in the shower. They're all disappointed in me. My son will hear this when he's older and he'll think of me different.

Chad looked at me with disgust.

My mother looked at me with concern and disgust.

And my father...

My father looked at me in disbelief that his little girl would do such a thing.

I got out of the shower and changed into some comfortable Pajama's then went into my room, seeing Greg asleep.

He looked so calm. Like nothing in the world was wrong.

I sat on my bed and heard the door creak open.

Chad looked at me then shut the door quietly behind him.

"Baby..." He whispers and sounds like he'll break any moment.

"I'm sorry." I say.

"I - I forgive you, but I can't... Can't stay."

"Why not?" I gulp.

"Because I need some space... Don't think of it as a breakup. Don't think that. I still would love to marry you. Love to be your husband. But right now, I need to visit my family and think. I love you Leah.... But I'm leaving tomorrow." He says and takes my hand in his.

"I'm sorry I did it..."

"You didn't have sex." He shrugs.

"But I almost did."

"Why'd you do it - almost do it?" He asks.

"To keep my parents safe. He threatened to kill them." I whisper and look into his blue eyes.

"Oh."

"Yeah..."

It was a comfortable silence until Chads lips smashed on mine.

He kissed me and pushed my body to the bed softly.

I kissed him back and smiled then pulled away.

"I love you." I say.

"I love you too, baby." He whispers and kisses the tip of my nose.

"Ill miss you."

"I know, iI'll miss you too, love." He smiles.

"Lets go to bed. It's late." I whisper and he nods, climbing off me.

"Chad?"

"Hmm?"

"Are you--disappointed in me?"

"Yes, but you did it for your parents."

"Do you look at me differently?"

"I look at you the same way the day I met you." He smiles and pecks my lips.

"Go to bed and forget it , baby." He whispers and lays down.

I wish it was that easy.
