The Wall We Built

Chapter 19

Still standing in the field... I needed to get all my friends out of here.  Good thing I have a really good plan.  "Leave my friends be... They have nothing to do with this." After I said that Safire got angry she knew that someone told me what's going on with the wolves and the forest.  But I also have a feeling I wasn't told everything.

"We'll give them a running start."  She chuckled... She thinks she is funny.

Angle pulled me back toward her.  "I'm not going anywhere I'm staying here with you." I nodded my head knowing that I wouldn't be able to get her to leave with everyone else.  "Okay guys go... Get in the cars and drive away don't stay... I'll call Eve when I need her to come and get me." Everyone started to walk towards Safire so they could get out of here and leave. "Hey Chase wait... Catch." I threw my keys his way.  "Drive my truck... Oh and make sure no one gets left behind and make sure no one stays... Angle is staying with me so don't worry about her." He nodded his head and he started at a slow jog towards everyone... They all started to run... When I couldn't see them anymore I began to pay more attention to the wolves all around Angel and I.

"So they got a head start... Hahaha... Get em boys."  The wolves began to slowly jog their direction.

"Ha... they'll never catch up or get to them... We are closer to the cars than you think... And there is one thing I learned last time I was here... Never come unprotected... There is a 22 pistol under my seat in my truck... Chase knows about it."

"That wont do anything... If you knew Connor long enough you know... It was a shame he had to go."  She was completely calm.

"Well good thing I did... The bullets wont kill any of your wolves but they will hurt... A lot."

She was surprised I knew more about them than she could handle.  I almost forgot Angle was here.  She was still confused. "Lydia what are you two going on about?"

I turned to face her... "Angle... You know all the stories that were told to us when we were little and even some of what we see on tv?" She started to talk but I instantly cut her off.  "Well all of that is true... maybe not all of it but you know... I was going to prepare you and everyone for this but I didn't think any of this would happen."

I gave her a look that showed her to please not be mad and she should know that I would never keep this kind of thing from her but I'm sorry I did. "Its okay I understand... Just promise me that what ever you do kick this girls ass okay." I nodded my head and smiled... She did the same.  I stood up strait and took in a deep breath.  I turned and started to walk toward Safire hoping she wasn't a wolf.

"Okay lets settle this... What are you doing here?"  I walked over and practically got in her face.  Ha bad idea... She picked me up and threw me against a near by tree... I was on the verge of blacking out... Just before I did I saw Kendra standing in shock for a few seconds and then the shock became rage.  She turned toward Safire and began to slowly walk toward her.  For some reason Safire was terrified... She began to back up and then stopped she jumped forward and changed to her other half... Wolf. 

Something weird was going on with angle.. A side of her I've never seen.  I was shocked she fell to the ground in what seemed like pain... My ears were still ringing from hitting the tree so hard so I couldn't tell what was going on with her. 

Her cloths began to be replaced with pure black beautiful fir... Her hands began to form into giant paws... Her face formed a long snout and her eyes became a beautiful bright green.  She slowly stood when she was fully changed... She looked at me and her eyes were soft and worried... She seemed to not know what was going on.

Suddenly Safire lunged at her and pinned her to the ground.  I opened my mouth to scream no and encourage her to get up but nothing came out... Or at least there was something but I couldn't hear it.  I hope no one stayed to wait I hope they listened to me... But the other half wishes they would come rushing back to help.

"Where are they shouldn't have they came back by now?" Lilly asked really worried.

"They be here don't worry."  I was trying to reassure her... I didn't know if they were even going to be back... We already had to get rid of all those wolves.  I was staring at the ground and I heard a scream... I looked up toward the forest.

"Chase did you hear that... It sounded a lot like Lydia... We should go after her."  I did hear the scream... I hope to god that its not her.  "No we weren't even supposed to stay... We don't want to put anyone else in danger... Trust me guys she can handle herself."

We waited another half an hour after we herd the scream... Lydia came out of the clearing with Angle in her arms.  She was all beat up and unconscious. Everyone ran up to her and helped get her into the car.  I dropped to my knees... Its my fault we should have went to help.
