Oliver's pov.
Through out the night on and off Lydia would wake up horrified... The nurses say that for some reason the cancer is affecting her mind. But I know the truth... her mind is forming to everything that she would have to prepare for. For instance killing any type of creature no matter what they lodxok like.
I eventually had to lay in the hospital bed with her so that she could go to sleep. She told me that her head was starting to throb after every time she woke up freaking out.
At about seven in the morning Lydia was asleep and I was lying awake in the hospital bed with her. Her dad walked in and freaked out on me for just being in the bed... I thought he was going to beat my face into the ground.
"What are you doing?" He was trying to be quiet so he didn't wake Lydia up. "I asked you a question son what are you doing here with my daughter?"
I slowly got up so I didn't wake Lydia. "I'm Lydia's boyfriend... I guess." I got sidetracked thinking about what I am to Lydia. "I have been here with her since she got here... I am actually the one who brought her here when she fell."
In his face I saw a sign of thankfulness and resent. "Well thank you... For taking good care of my daughter."
He looked a Lydia for a second. "I still have all my luggage from my trip so I'm going to go and drop it off at my house."
I nodded my head... He walked back down the hall from where he came. I walked back over and thought about laying back down with her but I don't want to get punched in the face. I sat back down in the chair and dozed off... I've been awake almost all night.
...............
Lydia's pov.
I woke up and looked over at the chair where Oliver usually sat. He was asleep... I figured after being up all night because I kept waking up practically screaming. I watched him sleep for a few minutes. I noticed that he wasn't wearing his leather jacket like always... Half way up his arm was a cool tattoo.
He woke up a few minutes later and smiled at me when he saw that I was awake. "How long have you been up for?" He sounds so cute when he's tired.
"Umm... Maybe about five minutes." He stretched a little bit then settled back into the chair.
"I didn't know that you had a tattoo... And I didn't think a world excised where Oliver took his leather jacket off." He smiled at me.
"Wait did you say that you can see the 'tattoo' my arm... Only venators can see the mark venator." I was now thinking that Lydia really is a hunter... If they do the surgery they will kill her.
"Wait... do you mean that I'm a venator." She seemed to be worried... Like she would be giving her life for being a hunter.
"Yes... Well potentially." I thought for a second about all of this. "For you to be a potential hunter there would have to be a line of venators in your family." By the look on her face I could tell she was getting worried because the look on my own. "So that tumor... If they try to take it out... It will kill you."
I paced back and fourth around the room thinking about what to do. "Lydia... You know how the paitient is aloud to choose if they want the procedure or not... Well you could say that you don't want it."
"Yeah but Oliver if my dad isn't a hunter and doesn't know anything about this he wont let me not get the surgery." I thought really hard about what to do for a second.
"I could talk to my father and ask him if he knows your dad or has even herd of him I can explain to your dad that you need to go home and begin your training." She nodded her head. "Okay I will be back soon okay." I gave her a hug and ran to my car.
It took me about ten minutes to get to my dads place. I jumped out of my truck, slammed the door and fast walked up to the door. I pound on it for about two minutes not stop. "Dad I know you are here... OPEN THE DOOR IT IS LIFE OR DEATH!!"
Then I herd his deep growly old man voice. "What do you want this time Oliver... You know you aren't welcome on this land anymore."
"Dad all I need to know is if you know Steven Summers." I herd a change in the atmosphere on the other side of the door... Like I was digging up memories that are better left berried. "His Daughter Lydia Summers is in the hospital with all the right symptoms that point to being a hunter."
He wasn't speaking to me. "Dad she can see my mark, she has the tumor than messes with her mind and the hot flashes at night. Dad they want to take out the tumor... You know that if they try to take it out it will kill her if she is a hunter."
He opened the door... I need to meet her father and I need to make sure she isn't this." He followed me to my truck and we drove back to the hospital... When we got back to the room Lydia was sleeping and her father was in the chair where I would be sitting if I hadn't left.
"Hey Oliver I thought you bailed... Who is this." He paused for a second. "Wait Rick... Is this your boy?" Its like memories were coming back to my dad... memories that he didn't want to bring back.
"Steve you cant let your daughter that surgery... She is a Venator... That surgery will kill her." Something seemed to die in Lydia's dad... Like he didn't want this life for her. I could tell he wanted to take her as far away from this as he could.
