The Wall We Built

Chapter 28

I didn't even make it all the way to Oliver I caved... I couldn't.  I don't want to be that girl that goes crawling back because she "can't live without" someone.

I went up to my room and laid down for a while... I eventually got around to getting up and ready for going out on the lake.

When I was all ready I walked down stairs and max said "finally we've been waiting on you all day." I mocked him and we made our way down to the beach.  Oliver was already down there sitting in a lawn chair watching the lake. 

Slowly Angel and I made our way down to the water and splashed and played like little kids.  Angel tackled me and we fell under the water.  Coming back up I tripped on a rock and angel laughed at me as I jumped around half laughing half yelling in pain.

We were out on the water almost all day... The sun was setting so we packed up and brought everything up to the house. 

While max started dinner I went and took a shower.  When I got out angel came and talked to me.

"Lydia you need to go talk to him... He is sitting on the porch all alone.  Lydia he is sad go talk to him."

I nodded my head. "Okay I'll talk to him... But I'm going to wait till a little later."

I brushed out my hair and I went down stairs and out the back door and walked by where Oliver was sitting.  I didn't say a word.  I just walked past him on the porch hoping he would ask me where I was going. 

"Where you going?" Just as I was hoping he asked me. 
"I'm going for a walk... I'm going to try and find some trails and see where they go." I stopped and turned around. "You want to tag along?"

He stood up and followed me. I'm glad he is coming with even if we don't talk it will still be pretty good that we are at least walking and not impulsively kissing trying to fix everything. 

As we were walking I herd a noise come from the left side of the trail in the brush.  I shrugged it off... Its probably a rabbit.  I hope the wolf problems haven't followed me out here.  I haven't seen a sign of those problems a few weeks which is pretty good since it seemed like a wolf had been effecting my life left and right. 

Again I herd the noise... And sure enough a wolf walked out in front of us.   It stopped and turned... I could tell it wasn't alone.  The wolf sat down and Safire sure enough walked out on the path in front of the wolf. 

"I should have know you would have followed us out here.  Why won't you just leave me alone... We have nothing you want!" I was so over whelmed I didn't know what to do. 

I noticed that behind her the wolf morphed into a human.  I looked closer... And it was Connor... I was stunned.  I slowly back up... I wanted to run the other direction.  

"Connor!! You... Your... Y... Your alive." I almost couldn't get the words out.

"Happy to see me... Oh wait... Ha I forgot you left me for dead." He said with an ass whole tone.

I slowly reached for my phone and found a way to send Mac and angel an SOS text. I don't think she is going to receive it. 

"What are you doing here safire." I asked again.

"You know exactly why I'm here... Max knows who the bijou is and we are you to claim it." I instantly thought... Angel. 

Safire looked to one of the wolves standing at the edge of the path. He took off toward the way we came from. 

Right before the wolf could get very far Oliver pulled a weird looking knife out of his pocket and he turned and hit the wolf right behind the shoulder half way up... Amazing aim.   The wolf dropped. 

Safire's face was priceless and I bet mine was too.  "A HUNTER!!" She yelled.  "Get'em boys."

Oliver quickly stepped in front of me.
He pulled three more weird knives out of his pocket.   As three wolves came at us at a sprint... Oliver threw the knives and hit them right in between the eyes. 

Quickly he turned keeping me hidden behind him... Turned and pulled another set of three knives and did exactly the same as he had done to the other wolves... Right in between the eyes.  We turned back around... Safire looked terrified... Connor and her morphed to wolves and took off thought the trees.
