The Power Went Out

(I accidentally typed OUAT instead of 'out' in the title. Yeah.)

Hi.

How are you?

I'm good.

The power at my school went out.

It was really weird.

First they sprung us with a surprise emergency weather drill before the bell telling us to go to homeroom rang, which I thought was odd since those things are usually in the middle of the day. Then they said they were going to turn the power off, which they never do.

I was at a before-school rehearsal for orchestra when this happened. Our concert is tomorrow, and that was supposed to be our last rehearsal, so the conductor looked like she wanted to murder someone. So, we put down our instruments and went into the hallway. We were sitting there for a few minutes, then all the teachers just rushed us into homeroom. They wouldn't even let us go to our lockers.

For a while, everyone was just sitting in the dark with their phones, then the teachers sent us to 1st period, then back to homeroom ten seconds later, then to 1st period again. The power was out all day and the teachers pretty much tried to continue as normal.

I'm not sure exactly what happened with the power, but my mom said that the phone call the district sent home said something about a system failure.

So that was my day. Yeah
