Chapter 16

Colby POV

I can't believe she said that! She knows I didn't do it on purpose! I just want to help her...why cant she get it!

I paced around my room angrily.

I tore at my clothes, feeling as if I was on fire.

Why does she have to drive me so crazy??!

I let out my last bit of anger as I screamed out and punched the wall.

Plaster crumbling to the floor as a puff of dust came out.

I ignored it and threw myself down on my bed as I began to calm down..

Maybe I should of just let it go..

She doesn't know.. It's a disorder..not her.

She just has to learn.. I just need to keep trying.

Suddenly, I hear a door slamming, echoing through the apartment.

Luna?

Luna POV

I ran down the stairs. Tears streaming down my face.

"I knew it, I knew it, I knew it!" I screamed at myself.

"Luna?!!" I hear someone call out from above.

Colby

I kicked my legs out faster.

Wiping at my face, I continued running. Finally as I make it out of the building, I take off around a corner.

I pause and take a deep breath, throwing myself down on the sidewalk.

I shoved my face in between my knees, trying to relax as my body felt like it was on hyperdrive.

Why would he do that?

Why would I say that?

My thoughts scrambled around my head, frantically.

After a moment, I stood up.

I'm not going back. At least not now.

I walk down the sidewalk when I spot a phone booth.
I jog over and hop inside.

Please, please, please!!

I pressed on the change button as two quarters popped out.

I let out a sigh of relief.

Quickly, I grabbed them and stuck them back into the machine, calling the only number I knew..

Cody.

I prayed silently as the phone rung.

"Hello?"

"Cody! It's Luna!"

"Luna? Is everything okay?"

"Uh, yeah..can you just come pick me up? We can talk then.. I'm just around the corner near Colby's apartment."

"Alright! Stay put."

I heard faint keys jingling in the background.

"Cody..?" I call out.

"Yeah?"

"Don't tell Colby." I begged.

Then there was a silence. It felt like years, however it was only a few seconds.

"Okay."

Sorry it's a short chapter! I got to go..
