Chapter 38

Luna POV

It's gonna be terrible without him.

I moved my head on to Colby's chest which slowly moved to his breathing.

Thump.
Th-thump.
Thump.
Th-thump.

His heart beat put my mind at ease as I fell asleep.

"Come on babe. Get up."

I slowly opened my eyes to see Colby kneeling over me.

His knees were on the sides of my waist and his hands next to my head.

"Finally sleeping beauty." Colby laughed.

I smiled up at him as he gave me a heartfelt kiss on the lips.

"We are gonna see Reed and Devin today..so they can say goodbye." Colby said giving a fake smile. His eyes were red and puffy.

Hes been..crying?

My heart ached for Colby, tears rimming my eyes again

Quickly, I blinked them back.

"Okay..can you get off now?" I laughed, trying to lighten up the conversation.

"Yeah.." Colby's face darkened as he looked away.

Without thinking, I grabbed Colby's face, restoring eye contact.

"I love you." I whispered as I pulled his face close.

I kissed him once more and finally let him get off.

"Your so cute." Colby said brightly, combing his hair with his fingers.

Within the hour, I had already changed, eaten, and gotten into the car.

Colby drove down the road as we listened to the same music the radio overplayed.

Suddenly, my phone began to beep like crazy.

Cody :Luna! I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I didn't mean it. I would never.

Cody: You don't understand. I just...need to see you before you leave..Please..without Colby.

Cody: I will explain everything.

"Who's that?" Colby peered at me from the corner of his eye as I scrolled through the messages.

"Uh...nobody. Just Twitter."

We pulled into the driveway of Devin's house.

It was a small pale blue house with a little stone pathway.

I stumbled out of the car as Colby rang the door bell.

He stuck his hand in mine as we waited.

The door swung open as Devin greeted us. "Hey guys!"

We stepped inside and looked around.

To our left was the kitchen, to our right was a TV and a couch which Reed was sleeping on..I was guessing the living room. In front of me, two halls roamed to the back of the house.

"Alright so let me grab my stuff and we can get going!" Devin exclaimed as he went down the left hallway.

Wait. huh?

"Um..where are we going?" I whispered.

"...Dinner..." Reed mumbled, half asleep. I guess he overheard me.

He stood up and walked over, giving Colby and I a hug before crashing back down on the couch.

"...it's okay you don't have to eat." Colby whispered to me.

"Okay good."

Who died when Luna lied to Colby?
