Jessica laid in bed next to Jamie stroking her hair and whispering things into her ear, I felt only regret and anger towards myself Her life was in my hands and I wasn't paying attention to it, She just turned eighteen and she doesn't even have a chance at life now because of me..Thinking got my tears flowing back and my throat aching
I sat in the chair next to her, Matt sat next to me. He dug into his pocket and pulled out his phone then dialling someone's number
"Hello?"
"Zacky?"
"Yo, how is she? Is she going to be okay?"
"She is in a coma but doc says she should heal then wake up.."
"Shit dude, Should we come there? Brian wants to see her"
"Yea I think that would be okay"
He hung up as a police officer and a small guy in a suit and briefcase "Matt can you go talk to them, I don't want to.." I spoke low and he nodded then walked off
"Yes?"
"Yea We are here for the sketch"
"Okay come with me" Matt said and they followed him out of the room
An hour later
Jessica laid next to Jamie still rubbing her hand staring out the window, the sky was just turning blue and the stars were going away.
"This is my fault.."
"Who were you with?"
"Oh uh"
"Jamie was really upset with that...but she trusts you to much, she saw you with that girl so who was she?"
"Leana...I used to date her in high school"
"Do you still love her?"
"No.."
"So why did you leave Jamie for her?.."
"Because I felt like-"
"Like what?!"
"I am going to admit it okay, I forgot I was with Jamie but I really do love-"
"Thats brutal man, so just remembered after she got shot?"
"No I had Val look for her"
"Why didn't you?"
"I don't know okay and I regret every moment I left her alone-"
The door opened and our heads turned, it was the doctor and Jax Teller, he took a couple steps in and looked me dead in the eye, he looked like he could kill and he probably will...
"What happened" he sounded very angry
"She was shot" his face frowned and walked over to her, then three guys showed up behind him. Then he rubbed his hand over her head
"She is in a coma..." Jessica said as Jax kissed her head
"What basturds causes this poor baby's pain?" Chibs spoke
"We are not sure, it was just a fight no one was supposed to get hurt, I didn't even know they had a gun..."
"You let this happen?" He cold stare frightened me but I swallowed the urge to do anything
"If I could do it over I would"
"You let my daughter get shot?!" He launched towards me grabbing my collar on my jacket and slamming me against the wall
"Jackie boy, let him go"Chibs came behind him and began pulling him off
"This ain't the place to handle it" he whispered to him but loud enough for me to hear
"Get out" He fixed his jacket and and combed his hair back with his hands
"But-"
"You will not see her anymore, you don't deserve to see her...Just leave" I couldn't respond..
He walked back over to her and rubbed over her head then leaned down and kissed her on her head
Everyone but Jessica's eyes were on me,  I whipped the tear ready to fall as I left and walked down the hall slowly, Lost in my thoughts.
Right when I got to the lobby I was snapped out of my head when someone called my name
"James!"
I turned my head and Jamie's mom was headed in my directions, I stopped until she got to my side
"Wheres my baby?"
"Third floor, 336"
"What happened? Is she okay?"
"Look I am sorry that I couldn't protect her...I am sorry I broke my vow to watch over her while she was with me... I am sorry.. I guess I ain't good enough... I love your daughter..."
"Okay, What happened?"
"I am sorry..I'm sure Jax will tell you..." I walked away from her and she didn't try stop me, I went for the waiting room and found Matt with the sketch artis "Matt I will be waiting in the car"
He nodded and I walked back out and made my way to the parking lot, soon after finding Matts car parked not far away, I got inside and let the waterfall run out my eyes, I can't live with myself right now... I sighed whipping my tears away and taking a deep breath..
Fuck I hate myself I just lost my girlfriend..she was so perfect...I can't believe I let myself be detracted... I am with Jamie...at least I don't know now.. A knock on my window made me jump, looking up to see Chibs and Tig standing outside the car... I thought about what Chibs spoke to Jax earlier I guess know they are going to handle it...He knocked again this time opening the door
"Come on kid get out" He stepped aside and I got out of the car
"Your here to do me in...I get it... its okay I can't live with myself..." Tig chuckled
"If we wanted ya dead, we would make sure it was somewhere more quite...where no one can hear you scream" he voice alone made it sound truthful
"We need to find these guys, tell us about those guys that hurt our lil Jamie" Chibs pushed my shoulder and Tig closed the car door, I sniffed and nodded
"I think they are apart of this street gang in the neighbourhood called Devils Crew, I didn't tell the cops that because if they got word that I brought they're name up in an investigation I'd be on their hitlist.." Chibs patted my shoulder
"Thats what we wanted to hear, you tell anyone about this and we will kill ya" Tig pointed at me
"Hey! Jamie's car is still at the place where it happened.."
"We will be there" Chibs yelled as they walked away,I nodded as Matt came around the corner
"Were those biker dudes talking to you Jimmy?" He walked up to the driver seat door
"Their Jamie's family, I think they are going to get them..." We both opened our doors and go in
"So your not going to stay with Jamie?" He put the keys in the ignition
"I can't, I can't be with Jamie no more..." I sighed looking out the window, Matt's phone started to ring turning the radio off he answered his phone
"Matt, where are yous...we are looking for a parking spot in the parking lot"
"Yea nevermind lets just head back to Val's, Jamie's family ain't cool with us around he right now.."
"Awe shit okay"
He put his phone down pulled out of the parking lot, I feel completely numb like I have no feelings or emotions I can't feel anything...
"Take me back to the hotel room"
"Sure thing Jim"
