Meet & Greet~11

I called Niall back as quick as I could and he answered on the first ring.

"Hello?" He sounded frantic. Haley's face lit up when she realized he was on the phone.

"Hey Im sorry my phone was off."

"Oh," he replied more calm. "I thought that maybe you found out and...I don't know. It was silly."

"No it wasn't! It was really sweet that you cared so much." I could sense him smiling through the phone.

"Well we should meet up."

"After what happened this morning," I questioned shocked that he still wanted to see me.

"Of course. I miss you."

"Hi!!" Haley nearly screamed and I rolled my eyes.

"Who was that," Niall asked.

"Just my best friend."

"I can't wait to meet you," she exclaimed again. Niall chuckled.

"Meet me at that that little restaurant. Rodney's right?"

"Yeah. I'll be there. I love you."

"I love you too." I stood from Haley's bed as she scrambled up as well.

"He wants us to meet him at Rodney's," I tell her. She nods, following me out the door.

On the drive there Haley tells me about her and her long time boyfriend Ben's boat ride together the other day. They'd always been so cute together.

Niall's car was already parked in the lot when we got there.

"He's here," I say smiling way harder than I intended to. Haley noticed.

"Im glad you finally found someone Grace."

"Don't say it like that," I scold.

"Like what?"

"Like Ive been sitting around waiting or something. Ive dated before."

"Yeah but I don't think I've ever seen you this happy." I look away, the painful reminder that we'd have to end things soon crossing my mind.

"I guess," I barely whisper.

I climb out the car before she could say anything else.

Niall wraps his arms around me the moment I step into the restaurant. I lean back to look at him and noticed he wasn't focused on me. I followed his eyes to Haley who was standing halfway through the door looking back at him.

"Haley, you're blocking the door," I say. She moved in approaching Niall and I as I stood with his arm wrapped around my waist.

"Niall this is Haley, Haley this is Niall." She gives a weak smile before awkwardly looking away. I couldn't help but look at the two of them suspiciously. He looked just as uncomfortable if not more.

"Lets sit."
