The next morning I felt...refreshed. I was surprised, but I felt much less stressed. The realization and pain of loosing Niall hadn't quite sunk in, and I was hoping things would stay that way.

When I woke up I made it my goal to talk to Haley. Maybe Niall was right about me being very forgiving, which I didn't really see as being a flaw. But I didn't think it was fair to be on speaking terms with Niall and not Haley. She was my best friend. Plus I already missed her.

I walked outside to find it was snowing! It wasn't too bad, but there was a soft blanket of it covering everything. I had to run back inside to get a bigger coat. Winter was coming up and I wasn't ready for it. I was never a huge fan of snow or big, puffy coats. They weren't attractive.

I sat in my car for a few minutes letting it warm up after I brushed the snow off the windshield. I was a little nervous about driving when I knew the roads would be icy, but I had to get to school. I drove slower than usual and listened to Ed Sheeran, one of my favorite artists, on the way.

The school parking lot was more packed than usual. Those who usually met up with their friends & walked probably drove their cars to avoid the harsh weather. I pulled up just in time for school, 8:15. I rushed out the car hopeful to make it to class on time. I had Social Studies with Mr.Sawyer first period, and he didn't have a nice bone in his body.

I was only about two minutes late, which I probably would've gotten in trouble for if he'd seen me walk into class. I managed to sneak in while he was writing on the board.

His class was boring as usual and I couldn't wait until second period, art, which I had with Haley. The teacher always let people talk in that class, and I figured there wasn't a better time to talk to Haley if I wanted us to be speaking by lunch. In fact, I walked so fast down the hallway I was the first one to the room. Usually it was Haley who was first. She was quite an artist and it was her favorite class, so I was surprised when a girl named Tanya walked in instead of her.

Tanya was ok. She usually tried to follow Haley around which was why I was shocked Haley wasn't with her. Tanya had pretty, brown shoulder length hair, brown skin and was a decent size. Not skinny but definitely not fat.

"Hi Tanya." I spoke awkwardly standing in the center of the room. The classroom was lined with desks, and in the middle were a bunch of canvases with easels for whenever we painted or drew.

"Hey Grace."

"Have you seen Haley?"

"I don't think she came to school today," she frowned.

"Oh.." She took a seat towards the front of the room and I sat a few seats down, glad that there weren't assigned seats.

The rest of the class slowly filed in. The snow had made outside dreary, and it was obviously affecting everyone's attitude. That and the fact that it was Monday.

"Is this seat taken?" A male voice asked.

"No." I answered not even bothering to look up. I was too busy wondering why Haley missed school. Maybe she'd gotten sick. I could always call after school and maybe run to her house. Even if she wasn't in school it was still my goal to make up with her. I was a bit rude to her.

"Remember me beautiful?"

My head snapped to see a grinning Liam, and I was instantly annoyed.

"You realize you sound like a total creep right?" I rolled my eyes at him but he just chuckled."How did you get in here? Are you even a student?" He chuckled again which annoyed me further. "I'd appreciate it if you stopped laughing and actually answered my question."
