*Come over?* Niall texted when I got to my car. When I didn't reply he sent a selfie of him pouting with the text "PLEASE!!" I couldn't help but smile and laugh, and before I could respond he was already calling.

"Hello," I answered trying not to laugh.

"Please," he exclaimed into the phone. "Don't be mad at me just come over." I sighed into the phone pretending to think about his offer.

Harry coughed in the passenger seat.

"Who was that," Niall questioned suddenly worried and suspicious.

"No one. Im just giving someone a ride home."

"It sounds like a guy someone," he accused.

"All that from a cough? I'll tell you everything when I come over ok?"

"Fine," he grumbled before hanging up.

"I...I didn't mean to get you in any trouble," Harry stammered. Sympathy shined in his eyes.

"Its fine. He can't tell me who I can hang out with." I smiled, starting up the car. He relaxed back into the seat and looked out the window. I could tell he still felt bad.

Harry and I had sat on the Barnes & Nobles floor for an hour talking about everything imaginable devouring his endless supply of Oreos. He was too sweet for me to let him take the bus home. I told him about Niall not because I thought he liked me, but because If Niall met a girl Id want him to let her know he was taken.

"Thanks for driving me," Harry said.

"Its no problem really. Plus it was on the way." That wasn't completely true.

"You live around here?"

"Not too far." The GPS led me to the front of an average sized house.

"Maybe we can meet up again?" He offered stepping out of the car.

"Definitely. You've got my number."

*Niall's P.O.V*

"You need to go Liam. She's gonna be here."

"Great. Then I can tell her then." I slumped onto my bed frustrated. I really had to tell my dad to stop letting him in.

"She doesn't need to know. And I'll tell her when I want to." I argued.

"Or when I want to." I sighed trying not to explode. I could surely see him telling her.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" By the time I got home from dropping Grace off Liam was already here. Just sitting on my bed like a creep. I wasn't even safe from insanity in my own house.

"Nothings wrong with me. I just know that a girl like her doesn't deserve to have things kept from her.

"And how do you benefit from her finding out?" He didn't look at me, instead carelessly picking at his finger nails.

"Because then she'll come crawling to me." I lunged for him, my fist aiming straight for his jaw. He caught my arm before I could hit him, and I tried to contain my anger. His cocky grin wasn't helping.

"You wouldn't want to do that." he teased only infuriating me further. "Im gonna go," Liam announced finally backing away. I stood with my fists clenched at my sides, my breathing ragged. "But tell her I stopped by wont you?"

I nodded, jaw clenched. He grinned again before closing my bedroom door.

*Grace's P.O.V*

Niall's dad's car was in the driveway when I pulled up. It made me a little nervous and rightfully so.

I rang the doorbell hoping Mr.Horan didn't answer. He probably wouldn't be expecting me to ask for Niall. I wish he would've told me he was home.

"Hello Grace." I guess today just wasn't my lucky day....meeting Harry was the highlight.

"Hi Mr.Horan. Is Niall home?" Of course Niall was home.

"Yes. Come in." He smiled widening the door to reveal Niall who I thought I saw frowning before he noticed me. My smile became natural as I focused on him. All my confusing anger towards him dissolving.

"We're just gonna be upstairs," He said to his father."

"Thats fine. Im leaving for work now," he said taking his coat off the rack.

"All you do is work," Niall snapped, The bitterness of his tone and the strange way he said "work" shocked me. Mr.Horan's expression changed from friendly to deadly.

"Thats none of your business, son." My boyfriend started up the stairs and I followed behind timidly. I listened to the front door slam. I didn't know what'd just happened, but I knew Niall had a reason to be upset with him.

He was waiting on the edge of his bed when I reached his room, so I sat next to him.

"Im sorry." He looked away but grabbed my hand."For today...and my dad being an ass."

"I think the whole dad thing is your problem," I chuckled.

"Im gonna need you to do something wrong so you can apologize. Im getting to do it a bit much." His thumb caressed my hand. "Well speaking of wrong who was that boy in your car?"

"Oh it was just Harry. I gave him a ride home."

"You've never mentioned him before. Did you meet him at the mall?"

"Yeah he....how'd you know I was at the mall?" Nervousness flickered in his eyes but it quickly dissolved.

"I just guessed."

"Oh. Well we met at Barnes & Nobles. I think you'll like him.

"Im meeting him?"

"Im not sure. We'll see." I looked up at him as he smiled down on me. His smile was kind but his eyes were somewhere else. Somewhere far away.

"Who's car was that a few minutes ago," I asked. Right before I pulled in there was a red car Id never seen before. I had tried to see who it was but they drove away before I could look at them.

"Oh...no one." He quickly got up and crossed the room to grab his guitar. He was officially stressed. Instead of pushing him further I curled up next to him as he carelessly played a relaxing tune. I wanted to ask more about the car and how he knew I was at the mall, but I could tell it would end badly.

"Are you and your father ok?" I couldn't help it. My question caught him off guard so he stopped playing for a moment. Then continued.

"He's stupid."

"That's beautiful," I motioned towards his playing . He barely smiled.

"You're beautiful." His accent only made me melt more. I leaned further into him closing my eyes. The rest of the house was silent. I could almost feel myself drifting to sleep.

"I love you." My eyes snapped open at his words but I said nothing. "You don't love me back ." It was more of a statement then a question. I sat up to face him and he stopped playing.

"Its not that...Im just-"

"Not ready." He finished for me. I shook my head embarrassed, cheeks flaming. He reached over and planted a kiss on my forehead with only reddened my cheeks further.

"Well I'll say it as long..." his expression changed as he suddenly realized why I couldn't say I loved him. We didn't have much time. "For as long as I can."
