After Harry left I began making my way upstairs. I couldn't believe he would actually try to kiss me. I didn't think he was into me that way. I still wanted to be his friend though. He was a great guy, and if I weren't in this complicated, on and off relationship with Niall I would've gladly kissed him back. He wasn't ugly at all.

"You alright?" My mom asked from inside her bedroom. Even though I was headed for my room, I figured I would just go in hers for now. The door was slightly open, so I opened it further to see her laying in bed watching a talk-show.

"Yeah I'm fine," I said awkwardly shrugging in the doorway.

"Come," she said motioning for the bed. I started walking towards the vacant side of her bed and climbed in, my back facing her. I threw the sheet over me as her arm draped over me. I focused on the television before my mom spoke.

"Why didn't you kiss him back?" She asked.

"You were watching us? Eavesdropping?" I questioned in fear that she heard what he said about Niall.

"No. I just heard you shout that he tried to kiss you, and I'm assuming that you didn't kiss him back. Why?"

I sighed.

"I don't know mom. I met him not that long ago and he's my friend. It felt too weird and it came out of no where."

"You should've kissed him," she told me. "He was cute."

I laughed at her and I wished I could tell her about the real reason I didn't kiss him. But I couldn't even imagine how she'd take that.

"I guess if you weren't ready then you weren't ready. You didn't have to kick him out you know."

"Yeah I know."

"But I'm gonna need you to be ready in the future and not be angry with every guy that tries to kiss you. I want grandkids someday." She joked.

"I know mom. But boys are annoying," I complained.

"I know."

"Is Bobby annoying?"

"He can be. But what's most annoying is when he's not around to help with the wedding."

"I could see that being an issue."

"Yeah. He works a lot though so I can't even be angry. "

I could tell how much she loved him by her voice. She spoke with such happiness and fondness in her tone. It was sweet.

"Do you have plans for tonight?" She asked after a minute.

"I'm supposed to be hanging out with Niall later but we didn't set a time. Why?"

"We need to get your bridesmaid dress soon. It doesn't have to be today. We could go tomorrow too. Or if you're going out late then we could get dressed now and start looking."

"What do you prefer?" I asked. It took a moment for her to respond.

"I guess tomorrow. That way we don't have to worry about you being somewhere at a certain time. I don't want to feel rushed. What are you two doing, anyway?"

"I don't know. We just wanted to spend some time together."

"Well that's cute," she said.

I wanted to tell her that it wasn't cute, but I left it alone.

"Well I'm hungry. Guess I'll have some cereal or something," I said climbing out the bed.

"I bought us these muffins one of my co-workers told me about to have for this morning. They should be on the counter."
