"Mom I look like a pumpkin. WE look like pumpkins. Don't we?" I asked prompting the other bridesmaids to speak up about the hideous dresses my mother was making us try on. There was me, Aunt Alice, my mom's best friend Clara and her other friend Amanda. They all nodded in a way that said "these dresses are ugly but we don't wanna hurt your feelings".

My mom burst into laughter. "I just wanted to see those things on you!" We all shook our heads, looking at each other as she got the rest of her laughter out. "Alright no more games," she promised. I couldn't help but smile a little at my playful mother.

After Harry took off down the driveway back at the house I asked Niall to leave as well and surprisingly he didn't argue. He's always up for an argument. I cleaned up our breakfast and before I knew it it was time to go shopping for bridesmaids dresses. Of course I had to come. I'm the maid of honor.

"Ok I picked out these black ones so I guess we'll just see how they look once they're on," my mom said as we each picked up a dress. They were long and silky. The kind that hung to your body. I was pretty sure these weren't the ones. What was she thinking?

"Well why doesn't everyone else try those on and I'll go look and see if I find something," I suggested giving the other bridesmaids a look so they'd know why I was doing this. We'd be here all day if I didn't.

"I need to see the four of you together in the dresses Grace," my mom said.

"I know but please mom? I wanna see if I can pick out a cute one."

She gave me a look but agreed, and I knew the bridesmaids were relieved. They were probably just as tired as I was of trying on bad dresses that for some reason my mom thought would work.

I walked out of our little room into the gigantic room of dresses. I remembered my mom saying that her color for the wedding was turquoise. It couldn't be too hard to find a nice turquoise dress.

"Need any help?" An older woman with grey hair asked me. I knew she worked in the store because of her nametag. Her name was Carly.

"Um yes actually," I said. "I'm looking for turquoise bridesmaids dresses."

She closed her eyes, I guess thinking, before telling me to follow her in the opposite direction of where I was headed. I was glad she came to help me.

She started digging through a rack and then presented a pretty, above the knee, turquoise dress. Very nice.

"You like?"

"Yes," I responded looking at it.

"There's also this," she said pulling another turquoise dress off the rack. This one was plain but nice as well.

"Ok I need four of both."

Carly had to go into a back room to get some but I walked back into the dressing room with 8 dresses. I walked in just in time to see the other three ladies dressed in ugly blue dresses that my mom was staring at adoringly. Guess I walked in right on time.

"Grace do you like these?"

I gave the dresses a look. "I think we'll all like these better." I handed each of the bridesmaids the simple, basic dresses first, figuring we should save the best for last.

"I like those better," I said pointing at the other dresses I had set on the table. "But lets just try these," I said. They nodded before closing to the curtains to their dressing rooms. I smiled at my mom before closing mine. I slipped off my dress and flip flops I had changed into before we left to make it easier to change in & out of dresses before sliding into the new dress.

It fit nice but, just like I said, extremely plain.

I stepped out the room. Amanda was the only one out and mom was examining her. Aunt Alice and Clara stepped out at the same time. I gave my mom a sort of "ehh" look and then picked up the other dresses, handing one to everyone.

"I really like these," I said, then went back into the dressing room. I absolutely loved this one. It fit even better than the first.

I was the first out and I could tell my mom liked them.

"OOH I like these," Aunt Alice said walking out. "And don't you look pretty in it," she complimented me. Clara and Amanda came out and nodded their heads looking at me.

"Thank you," I said a little embarrassed, then I looked in the mirror at all of us to see how the dresses looked.

"I love them," my mom said.

"Yeah me too," Amanda said. We all just kind of stared.

"You did good Grace," Clara said. We all just laughed.

"Yeah I guess I did."

The ride home was sort of torture because all mom wanted to talk about was the wedding, which is understandable, but that doesn't mean it isn't annoying. "Grace should the napkins be blue or turquoise?" "Grace do you wanna come cake tasting with me and Bobby?" "Grace I'm so glad you and Niall get along."

I just sat looking out the window. The one thing she did tell me that I cared about was that her and Bobby were looking at a house not too far away. The four of us (Mom, Niall, Bobby and I) would have to sit down and either decide on a new house or decide if we want to just move in with them sometime this week. She wanted us to decide as a "family". It didn't even sound right.

We got home and my mom went straight to her room, making phone calls about who knows what for the wedding. It was Sunday and I was tired from this morning, so it didn't take much for me to lay down and fall asleep.

Authors Note

I know it wasn't one of those juicy chapters but not everything can be amazing! If it were like that the story wouldn't be realistic but I'll try to make the next one more exciting.

The picture on the side is of the bridesmaid dress and the YouTube link is a song by A Day To Remember that I really love called If It Means A Lot To You. I'll start adding YouTube videos or songs if you all like that. If you listened to it let me know if you liked it in the comments.

Thanks for reading! Don't forget to vote and maybe comment any predictions, what you wanna see or something I can do better :)
