The door didn't open.
Perfect.
Stupid "Slam-lock." I was forced to knock on the door and wait for my mother to open. Though she knew I had just gotten in an argument & the stress from it made me look like hell, she still smiled warmly as I stepped inside.
"You ok?" she asked even though she knew I wasn't 'ok'.
"Yeah Im fine," I lied taking a seat on the couch. Within seconds she was beside me, her hand resting on my thigh comfortingly. It was times like these I loved her most.
"What was he so angry about," she asked sincerely. I decided to stick with my lie, not that I had any other options.
"He thinks I broke his guitar."
"Did you?"
"No."
"Oh."
"Sorry if we woke you."
"You didn't. I was in my room working on some wedding things. Wanna see?" As much as I wanted to say no, the way her face was lit up like a christmas tree made it hard.
"Sure." She squealed pulling (dragging) me upstairs and into her bedroom. Her creme colored walls & king sized bed were my two favorite things about her room. Her bed was usually always so relaxing, but today it was covered in papers.
I stood frozen in the doorway watching as she dug through the papers looking for a specific one. She found the paper and then rushed back over to me.
"This is the venue. Do you like it?" She shoved the paper at me and I inspected the picture.
"Isn't this our church?" We barely ever went to church. I couldn't remember the last time I had been there.
"Yes. I liked it because theres a great space for the reception afterwards." I forced a smile as she took the paper back & placed it on the bed."By the way, we need to go dress shopping soon." Her face lit up even more.
"Of course," I mumbled.
"You'll be a bridesmaid, right?"
"Of course," I mumbled again. She held my shoulders. "Im starting to get the feeling someone's not liking the idea of this wedding."
I don't.
"I do...its just-"
"The change?" She guessed. I nodded.
"You're still ok with it right?" No. I was tempted to tell her the truth but...
"Yeah."
"Good." She finally breathed after looking like she was holding her breath.
"We still have to do cake testing and pick out flowers and make the the seating chart." I nodded but I wasn't exactly listening.
"Isn't Mr.Horan helping you?" She looked sad for a moment but quickly recovered.
"He works a lot. Even when we were dating he worked a lot so Im not surprised. He warned me about it in advance so I can't even complain." She shrugged.
"Ok. Well Im gonna do some homework. Don't stress yourself too much alright." She smiled at me before I left her bedroom.
I spent the next two hours locked in my room doing homework before Harry texted me.
*Bowling tonight?*
Niall immediately popped up in my head. I knew he'd be angry....I didn't care.
*Sure.* He called in a few minutes to give me the address and time. He wanted me to meet him at the alley around eight. With nothing to do I just watched tv until it was time to go.
I was hoping Niall would call...text....something! But nothing.
Right when I was getting dressed Haley texted and asked if I could come over. I told her I was going bowling and that she should come, but she didn't want to.
I kept it simple. Jeans and a pink designed crop top with a black tank top under it. I wore my beat up converse with my hair in a high ponytail.
It only took me ten minutes to get to the alley from my house. Surprisingly I had never been there before. It seemed decent. I walked inside and immediately spotted Harry in his blue checkered button down with a white shirt under it. He was talking to a boy I had never seen before and another girl, but he noticed me as I walked up.
"Grace," he welcomed with a smile, dimples showing.
"Hey Harry."
"Grace this is Louis and his girlfriend Eleanor." They waved timidly.
"Where's Niall," Harry questioned looking towards the door as if he expected him to walk in.
"Oh I didn't wanna invite him." By the tone of my voice he could tell I didn't feel like talking about.
"Well at least I don't have to be the awkward third wheel. Or should I say fifth wheel." I smiled at his attempted joke.
"Lets go get our shoes," Louis suggested motioning towards the place where we had to get them from. We all nodded in unison before walking over to the extremely short line.
The bowling alley was very lounge like. There was a bar and nice glass fire place. Very calm.
Eleanor and I smiled at each other when the boys paid for both of us. The sweet advantages of being a girl. There were a few, and this was one.
Once we all got our shoes on we were ready to bowl. The three of them insisted I went first and my first turn sucked. Two gutters in a row, but all we could do was laugh.
Harry ordered some fries and soda over which we all munched on as we played. We were having so much, my stomach hurt from laughter.
Then he walked in.
He was angry and red just like this morning. Nothing had changed, literally nothing, and that aggravated me before he even said anything.
"What are you doing here with him?!" Niall fumed. The entire alley could probably hear.
"He's my friend and he invited me bowling." My voice stayed low.
"You don't even tell me where you're going?"
"You told me you'd be out with your friends. I didn't think you'd care. And I don't need your permission to go places." I watched as Harry's expression turned to a mix of horrified & fearful, while Louis and Eleanor looked completely confused.
"As your boyfriend I deserve to know where you are all the time." Was he fucking serious?
"Niall in a couple of months you won't even be my boyfriend!" I exclaimed. I regretted it the second I said it. The pain was evident in his eyes and in my heart, but his pain quickly dissolved.
"Which means I shouldn't care?"
"Thats not what Im saying," I whined. "How did you even know I was here? I didn't even call you." He tensed up.
"I don't know." I could feel my patience running out.
"What'd you do? Place some sort of tracker on my phone or something?"
"That'd probably be better," he mumbled.
"Niall answer my question. How did you know I was here?"
The stress was clear on his face. He opened his mouth to speak before running straight for the door.

P.S.
Im not a Eleanor shipper. Im not a Larry shipper. I only included Eleanor so that it wouldn't be two boys with one girl so don't get upset or anything.
