For the next week things went back to normal. I hung out with Haley at lunch. Niall and I took our seats in the back of class together, constantly being shushed by the teachers which only made us laugh louder.
We were careful about looking like a couple in school. We never actually talked about it, but we just knew to be cautious. We used homework as an excuse to see each other outside of school, not that I needed one. Mom had been way too busy with wedding stuff to really question where I was anymore, and Niall's dad was a workaholic.
When Friday rolled around I realized that, yet again, I had no plans.
"Can we go to Panera Bread," I asked Niall when the day was up.
"You always want to go to Panera Bread," he whined. "And you always get the same thing." I rolled my eyes at the truth.
Im really picky, and all I ever get from there is grilled cheese and green tea. Strange I know, and stupid really, but I love it regardless.
"Please," I begged batting my eyelashes. He sighed and sucked his teeth.
"You're lucky you're pretty."
On the way there Niall and I went back and forth between the radio (As usual). He won, and to rub it in he screamed out every song whether he knew the words or not.
Panera Bread was packed when we got there which made Niall groan. He wrapped his arm around my waist and sulked over to the line with me.
"What are you getting," he teased.
"Very funny."
The air conditioner must've been turned all the way up because it was surprisingly freezing. I couldn't figure out why the people would want it up so high when it was already cold outside.
"You want my sweater?" Niall noticed me shivering. Before I could answer Niall took it off exposing his bare arms then shoved the fabric at me. I felt guilty taking his sweater when he had no sleeves, but I still took it, sliding my arms through the cozy sleeves.
"What are your plans for this weekend," I asked him as the line barely moved.
"Im not sure yet. Maybe I'll call up a few lads. What about you?"
I shrugged, hoping maybe he'd invite me along, but he didn't.
"Don't want to hang out with me huh," I laughed. He just pulled me closer to him.
I took another look around the Panera Bread only to see Harry waiting for his food. Like an idiot, I ran over without thinking and didn't stop until I reached him.
"Grace," he greeted with an award winning smile.
"Hey Harry! What are you doing here?" He looked around the restaurant.
"Its Panera Bread. I got hungry." He chuckled at my question, his laughter contradicting his words.
Niall walked over defensively wrapping his arm around me, then scowled at Harry. Jealous much? I cleared my throat to let him know he could tone it down, but it didn't work.
"Niall this is Harry. Harry this is Niall." Harry held his hand out and Niall shook.
"Her boyfriend," Niall stated still shaking.
"He knows that," I whispered leaning into him.
"I don't care."
"Why'd you leave the line," I finally noticed. The three of us looked over to the line that had only gotten longer. It didn't make sense to get back on it. We would've, could've been at the front by now...
"Sorry," he grumbled.
"We're gonna go," I said glaring at Niall who I knew was purposely looking away.
"Oh ok. But I was gonna call you anyways to see if you wanted to hang out tonight...or tomorrow," Harry said. I caught him nervously glance at Niall. He was scared of him, I concluded. That or just respectful.
"Can I come," Niall chirped up and I rolled my eyes.
"I'll call you tonight," I replied smiling. He waved before I practically dragged Niall put of Panera Bread.
"Im coming with you" he demanded as we walked to the car.
"Really? Because five minutes ago you wanted to hang out with your friends."
"Thats what you're upset about?"
"No," I answered truthfully. I was glad Niall was hanging out with friends and not just me. But him acting like that in front of Harry was unneeded.
"If he calls, Im going and you aren't. End of story." I stated firmly. I sat in the passenger seat praying he wouldn't continue arguing. I didn't have the energy.
"You look tired."
"Thanks for noticing," I snapped not meaning to.
"You should sleep this weekend."
"Nice try babe."
"Babe?" My heart skipped a beat at the realization of how comfortable I was calling him that.
"What?" I tried to shrug it off, but my cheeks were bright red.
"Don't act like you don't care. You should call me it more often."
"You're bipolar." One minute he's the jealous monster and now he wants me to call him babe.
"We both are....babe," he winked and I smiled.
"Stop being cute."
He grinned.
"I'll admit I was jealous," he confessed. "But its only because I care about you." He grabbed my hand.
"Im glad you do. Really glad."
