***********************Chapter three, part one:
**********Sapphire’s point of view**********
“Lucifer, My ancestor was the devil himself.” The boy, Lucifer said. I sat up straighter.
“Well, that’s interesting.” I said trying not to sound freaked out. Lucifer laughed.
“You don’t need to fear me. I’m like Aria in many ways. I wish I’m not what I am, but you have to play your cards, no matter how crappy they are. I’m not evil.” He said. I hadn’t heard any bad stories about him so I decided to trust him. He had white blonde hair, and green eyes. “Come on, let me show you something.” He said getting up and holding out his hand. I hesitated; names were just names after all. His name was Lucifer, a name for the devil. My name was Sapphire, a blue gem stone. It didn’t mean he was the Devil and it didn’t mean I was blue. I took his hand and he helped me up. I stretched, and we started walking along a path. He opened a side door that led to a staircase. He held the door open for me.
“Thank-you.” I said automatically, and he smiled a brilliant smile that made my heart stop.
“Breathe.” He told me and I did. What was wrong with me? Falling over my own feet over a boy I just met? I should know better after what had happened with James. He kept glancing at me sideways as we walked up the stairs. I looked down, trying to focus on blocking my mind from the gentle push of his. When we got to the top of the stairs, He reached ahead of me and opened the door. I smiled at him and he returned it, it seemed like he couldn’t help but smile back. Lucifer opened the door to reveal a huge room with two walls covered in thick drapes. He walked over to those walls and pulled a cord. The draped opened to reveal a view of the still angry ocean and forest that left me breathless.
“This is my room I have lived here for about five years.” He said, leaning against a wall. I looked around me. The walls were painted black with patterns of symbols painted in blood red. There was a big bed pushed into a corner, the covers were black and neatly tucked under the pillows. There was a closet and beside the closet was a dresser with a mirror on it. There was a table on the other side of the room with antique-looking chairs. It wasn’t very well decorated but it had a certain charm to it. I looked back to Lucifer, who looked like a lost angel surrounded by the darkness of his room. It didn’t look so dark once he had opened the drapes. He smiled at me. “I didn’t have a say in the colours or furniture, just where they went.” He told me. I walked up to one of the huge windows and rested my hand lightly against it. I noticed that when I took my hand away, the glass softly glowed in a blood red pattern. It startled me and I tried to make it go away but it only got worse. I looked beside me and found Lucifer standing beside me, looking at my blood red hand print on his windows. It happens sometimes, because of who I am. I need to remember, because I need to control.
“I’m sorry,” I started but he cut me off.
“Do not show the council this; they may very well kill you. They kill what they fear. I however, like it. It shows that you have power that you don’t yet know how to use. Aria will teach you.” He said, tracing symbols in the air that glowed with a soft blue colour. I smiled at him. I raised my hands to try but instead of creating patterns, my fingers moved to create symbols. To me the symbols said sing. Then I heard the faintest sweet song that sounded like angels were singing it. Lucifer smiled down at me. I went to put my hands back at my sides but he grabbed my hand and led me from the room. It reminded me of when I had first met James, there had been an instant connection and I couldn’t help but fall into his spell. But the connection was stronger with Lucifer. He led me back down the stairs and I knew I should pull my hand away but I couldn’t bring myself to do it. He pulled me along like he couldn’t wait to walk slowly. Despite me trying not to be my normal, hyper self, I laughed and started running with him. We stopped when we got to the beach and he sat down in the sand. I didn’t want to sit after running, I wanted to run even more, but he pulled me down beside him. Lucifer looked at our hands, sitting in the sand between us. He sighed and started talking,
