The wolf just stared at me, not seeming to know what to do. Something about the wolf seemed oddly familiar, but I brushed away the feeling quicker than it had come. Seth, standing tall beside me, was chatting away with the large wolf. I wanted to search his mind to see where he came from, who he was. But I couldn’t do that very easily because he wasn’t a member of this pack. I sat down, bored. I wanted to run around and let some of my energy loose. I yawned. Suddenly there was a big wolf with copper hair standing on my left. I stood up and felt like a cat among lions. I was just too small. I tried going on the tips of my paws to see if I could attempt to be the same size as them but my head still barely went up to Seth’s nose, or Riley’s shoulder. Exasperated I sat down like a good little girl. I sensed more wolves behind me and looked back. Even Eric the 16 year old was a taller wolf then me. He was taller than me only by about 3 inches though so I didn’t feel too bad. I looked behind him and knew it was Justin and Dustin but I didn’t know who was who. I ignored all the chatter until I heard my name be called, multiple times. I stood up and made my way to the front, I felt like a small child because of how short I was compared to the others. I noticed that there were a bunch of wolves across from our group. I came up to most of their shoulders and hated that fact.
“Sapphire, this is the second school pack.” Riley started. I had troubles paying attention because the large black wolf kept looking at me weird. I couldn’t help but feel that I knew him from somewhere, or that we had met. I looked up to Riley. I looked back to the big black wolf when he started talking directly to me though.
“Sapphire, Riley has explained your situation to us.” The wolf started. I turned to Riley. I was unaware that I had a situation.
“Just what you are and a few minor complications that I told them to watch out for.” Riley told me. I kept looking at him, expecting more of an answer. “Like your untrained power, that’s defiantly not normal.” Riley told me.
“Have you yet to notice that I’m not normal?” I asked him. I walked to the back of the crowd and sat down.
“Sapphire, if you want you can go back to the school. Eric, Seth, you too.” Riley told me. There wasn’t really an option so I started walking back, listening to Eric and Seth grumble about how they had to go back too.
“Oh, grow up!” I told them, nudging Seth with my shoulder. He growled quietly and I pretended to be shocked. “So what, you get to sit out of their boring conversation. Man, I hate having an Alpha.” I said to them.
“I heard that.” I heard Riley’s voice in the distance.
“Good.” I said to him, then almost without thinking about it, I felt my body melt and take a little taller form. I stretched once and found that Eric and Seth changed too. They walked beside me and for the first time I realised that I barely came up to Seth’s shoulder. Eric was only about four inches taller than me. I sighed. “You all need to get short.” I told them, Seth smiled and started walking on his knees. I pushed him over and he caught himself then sprang back up. We got to the school and found some tall pale kid pushing some shorter tan kid. It was obvious the pale kid was a vampire. The other kid might have been a werewolf or a shape shifter. It was obvious the shorter kid started it and by the time I got to where they were they were on the ground and I couldn’t tell who or if anyone was winning. Being guys, Eric and Seth tried to figure out who would win. I pulled off whatever one was on the top, turns out it was the vampire. I threw him over my shoulder and heard him hit the ground lightly about 40 feet away. I picked up the other kid and he looked scared. “Who started it?” I asked him, rolling my eyes. I heard both Seth and Eric having trouble keeping the vampire still. “Quick movements only boys, vampires are used to slow.” I called back.
“He started it but then stopped so I guess we both did.” The kid managed to get out.
“With a vampire? They’re damn tough, trust me, my best friend was a vampire, man, you got her mad and she’d have your head.” I told him.
