"I'm going to miss you so much sweety." My mom said as she pulled me into a hug.
"I'll miss you too mom." I answered.
I heard my mom sniffle. "God I can't believe my little girl is going of to college!" She frowned stroking my blonde hair.
"Mom I know I'm short no need to rub it in." I said trying to lighten the mood.
It didn't work.
My mom chuckled but soon started crying and pulled me in for another bear hug.
"You better have a boyfriend when you get back." She said quickly turning excited. "Ooh maybe that roommate of yours."
I groaned, God I swear she is bipolar.
My best friend Camille walked in our living room. "Ready to go Grace?" She asked looking between my mom and I.
"Yeah." I answered giving my mom one last hug.
Camille and I walked down our stairways to the car, where our friend Maddie was sitting in the passenger seat.
"Really you guys made me sit in the back?" I whined opening the trunk.
"That's what you get for making us wait so long," Camille smirked. " I was going to let you sit in the front but your too slow so no shotgun for you."
"But you know how my mom is." I continued.
And they did, Camille, Maddie and I have been best friends since middle school, and now we were going to the same college together.
I closed the trunk and got in the back seat. Camille started the car a turned up the music super loud. "Let's get this show in the road bitches!" Camille yelled stepping on the gas. And off we went.
After two hours of singing and eating we finally arrived on campus, our speakers blasting the song 'It Ain't My Fault'
"So who's your roommate Grace?" Asked Maddie curiously.
" I don't know, someone named..." I said checking paper slip. "Alec, Alec Daniels."
"Ooh a boy," Camille purred glancing back at me. "Sounds sexy."
"Real mature Camille." Maddie said flicking Camille in the side of the head.
"I can't believe you guys ditched me and made me get a roommate." I said changing the subject.
I had to get a roommate, Otherwise I wouldn't be able to pay for rent, and I am NOT living in a sorority.
"Yeah sorry Grace," Maddie said sighing. "My mom made me live in a sorority, she said it would be good for me to make friends, but that was before she knew you guys would be here."
"Same," Camille added groaning too. " I mean imagine if we all lived together, we could have sleepovers every night!"
I had to admit, that would've been awesome, but knowing us, we probably wouldn't get anything done.
The car pulled up to my apartment. I got out and grabbed my stuff from the trunk.
"Bye guys, come over later k?" I called waving to them.
I watched them drive around the corner, when they were gone I pulled the paper slip back out of my purse to find the floor and room number.
