8:32 a.m. Saturday, June 4th
"Good morning beautiful" I heard his whisper while his hand traced circles on my back.
"How did you get in here?" I asked, sleep still coating my voice."Your mom let me in," he smiled at me. "c'mon get dressed, we got big plans for today."
He left my room and I picked out an outfit. I went with a white tank top and a button down shirt over it, I grab a pair of white shorts and some sandals.I decide to take a quick shower, and then change into the outfit I picked out. I pick up my sunglasses and head downstairs. I find Tyler sitting at my kitchen table. He holds out a bowl of strawberries at me. I take the bowl when he stands up, kiss my mom on the cheek and follow him outside.
He drive down the highway with the windows open, his left hand tightly wrapped around the steering wheel and his right hand on my thigh.
"Where are we going?" I ask, he's been so spontaneous lately. I'm just glad he's happy."That," he says smiling, "is for me to know, and you to find out."
Tyler had a thing for mysteries and surprises, always has. He's never out of ideas either, everything always feels new with him. He's always coming up with new ways to surprise me, like last night.
He pulls into the parking lot of the beach. Since it's only around 9 a.m. there's almost no one here. He looks at me and smiles, I laugh.
"What are we doing here?" I ask smiling.
"Just adventuring." He goes to the back seat and pulls out a basket.
I walk behind him to the beach where he sets down the basket, he pulls out a blanket and lays it down. He sits and I follow his lead.
"Isn't it gorgeous?" He asked.
looking out at the waves I nodded and stood up. I could feel the wind moving my hair and the sand was warm under my feet. I stood with my feet in the ocean while Tyler walked over and put his arm around my waist.
"It's so nice here." I said looking out at the waves.
"The water's warm." Tyler said, and in less than a second he grabbed me by the waist and then we were in the ocean. He kissed me and suddenly I knew what it felt like to be kissed by the ocean.
The wind blowing was loud enough to hear as it blew my hair and my shirt in every different direction all at once.
The waves crashing all around us were strong and infinite. I put my hands in his hair and I could feel the pull of the current under our feet.
He tasted like salt and and the pressure on his lips was the closest to heaven that I could ever get.
He smelled like the beach, like how you would expect it to smell, calm, cool, and sweet.
He backed into the water a little and beckoned me to follow. I followed him until I was standing a few feet away from him.
"I don't want to get wet." I laughed."Fine," He smirked back at me. "I guess I'll just have to carry you." And he did. He carried me over the waves and splashed me with the water once in a while.
We went back to the blanket after a little while and ate some of the food Tyler packed.
"So?" Tyler looked at me "What do you think of this place?"
"I think it's beautiful"
"That's why I picked it," he said. "It reminded me of you."
I leaned over and kissed him. We stayed there for most of the day walking along the beach, playing in the waves, and just hanging out. It was beautiful. Tyler always knows exactly how to plan dates, a skill I definitely lack.
We watched the sun set over the waves from our spot on the beach, it was one of the most gorgeous sunsets I'd ever seen. After the sun went down he drove me home and we hung out in my room for a while.
when it got to be late, he pulled me off my bed and hugged me tighter than ever.
"Goodnight babygirl I love you." He said to me.
"I love you Tyler." I told him.I walked him to the door, holding onto his arm like a kid on the first day of kindergarten.
When we got outside he kissed me, and hugged me again. "I'll miss you." he said. I wasn't sure what he meant, we'd see each other on Monday if not tomorrow.
"I'll miss you more." I replied."I think you'll be okay,"
"I love you." I kissed him goodbye."I love you." he said.
"Goodbye."And with that he got in his car and drove off into the dark.
