chapter nineteen

{Cassidy's POV}

9:47 a.m. July 7th

I woke up to a text from Bailey.

Bailey: Hey Cass, I'm sorry about kissing you last night. If you don't want to be around me anymore, I understand.

I liked the kiss.
I really liked Bailey.
Why was she so scared that I didn't like it?

Cassidy: No, I liked it.

I wasn't sure what feelings I was admitting to by saying this, but Bailey was definitely more than a friend now.

Bailey: Oh, well I guess I should be honest with you than.

Cassidy: What do you mean?

I was very confused now. Did she not want to be around me anymore? Was she straight? I mean I thought I was but I definitely felt something between us.

Bailey: I like you Cass, but I'm not sure if either of us are ready for a relationship right now.

She did have a point there. We've both been though some serious shit, and not that long ago.

Bailey: You're amazing, I'm just scared I won't be able to be the kind of girlfriend you deserve.

Cassidy: I feel the same way, maybe we should just stay friends.

I didn't really want to stay friends, I wanted more than that. But it was true, neither of us was in a good place currently.

Bailey: Yeah I think that's the best idea.

We made plans for two days from today.

I got dressed and walked downstairs. The house was quiet, as usual. No one ever seems to be home.

"I should consider moving out." I said out loud to no one in particular as I grabbed my keys and walked outside,

I'm 18 in less than a month anyway. But I should probably get a job first.

I drive to a local coffee shop and buy myself a coffee.

I drive back to my house and start looking for apartments online.
