***Chapter 35***
I hear screeching in my ear piece and I squirm uncomfortably, later a voice comes on telling me that’s my cue to start the intro to Up All Night. My body turns into autopilot fortunately because I was too stunned by the enormous crowed to consciously play anything.
The first couple songs came and gone like summer. I can’t remember the anxiety or nervousness I was feeling during the first couple tunes they played because I was actually zoned out. The rest of the concert, though, was the best experience I’ve ever had.
I’m not gonna go into super detail, but almost everything about the cncert was fun, except for the end.
Before the last song, What Makes You Beautiful, the boys stopped to introduce the band. First they introduced Dan, then the rest f the band and finally made their way to me lastly.
“And this, everyone, is not our usual drummer.” Louis started, gesturing to me with one hand while holding his microphone in the other.
“And of course Josh is way better than this loser.” Zayn buts in and I give him a glare.
“And Ashton.” Niall says. What a dork.
“Oh hey,” I start, remembering something for Niall. The Irish boy puts the microphone to my mouth so everyone can hear what I have to say, assuming it would probably be some lame comeback. When will he ever learn that I always have the best comebacks? Ehem, comeback queen over here. “You know their song Try Hard?” All five nod but I only look at Niall. “It’s about you.” I say with a straight face and Niall frowns as the crowd laughs, some sending hateful comments my way but I ignore them. Well, most of them, anyway.
“Who am I?” I repeat, looking back in the general area of where I had heard the question come from. “Isn’t it obvious? Illegal immigrant Pedro St. Lopez.” I laugh.
The boys laugh, too. Harry is the first one to speak up after that. “Isn’t she funny?” He asks the crowd and I roll my eyes as they scream. “Not as funny as I am, of course.” He says, cockily, walking over to something a fan had thrown on stage. It seemed to be a mask of some sort, but Harry puts it on, regardless of what it seems to be. Once it’s on, I can see it’s a ridiculous looking Horse mask, looking even more outrageous on his human body.
“I don’t know if I can finish the concert, sadly.” He starts, lifting up the mask as he talks. “I’m feeling a bit hoarse.” He snickers and he walks back over to me as I play the, cheesy yet classic, ‘ba dum tiss’ notes on the drum set. The crowd laughed.
“Good one, Styles.” I tease, pinching his cheeks as Niall leans his elbow on my shoulder.
“Like you could do better.” Louis defends, crossing his arms over his chest standing in front of Harry. 50% of the arena screamed their heads off and I guessed Those were the Larry shippers.
“That sounds like a challenge.” Niall says.
“Team to make the crowd laugh the most wins.” Harry says, explaining the rules of our little competition. “We’ve got dibs on Liam.”
Liam walks over to the other two boys with a look of confusion on his face. “Was I just drafted.” He questions then smiles and laughs, giving Louis a high five.
I grab Zayn’s forearm and pull him over beside me and Niall. “You first.” I state, looking at Liam, Louis and Harry for their little act of entertainment for the crowd. Harry nodded proudly, clearly speaking into the microphone in his hand, telling his first joke.
