A/N: Guess they have wi-fi here after all! So here's the 8th chapter. Yay!! So they've started investigating but everything's so confusing. What's going on?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We walked down the street. Robert had said 'it was an -'about the clue. It started with a vowel sound. I sighed and looked over at Sherlock, with his hands deep in his pockets and an unreadable expression on his face.
"I can practically see Susan laughing at the amount of information we've gathered." I said dryly.
Robin stopped in his tracks.
"I just had an idea" he said.
"What?" I asked.
"Let's find out the names of the people who are new here." He said "It'd be perfect. Granmama said the burglaries started a month ago, people who moved in about then."
It was a good idea.
"But how?" I asked.
We were keeping close to the trees now.
"Meow!"
"Abby?" Robin asked with mock amazement in his tone.
I rolled my eyes and looked up into the trees from where we'd heard the noise. A black cat was stuck on top of a tree. Its tail was stuck in a branch. Weird.
Robin, ever the hero, proceeded up the tree. I stared at him in disbelief.
"Robin!" I called after him "I wouldn't do that if I were you!"
"But you're not me, my dear Violet." He shouted from high up.
He had gone up super fast. Sasha growled. Robin lifted the struggling cat. 'Abby' meowed and leapt from branch to branch, landing right in front of me on all fours. The cat then walked off with its head in the air like nothing happened.
"Sasha..." I warned.
She took two steps towards my feet to show me that she was obeying but didn't stop a low growl coming from her throat.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!" Robin's cry split the air.
I snapped my head up to see Robin dangling from a branch. He was holding on to the branch and would fall if I didn't do something. How did he manage to get into these crazy situations? If I hadn't been so terrified, I would have laughed.
"Violet!!" he hollered "Help!!"
"Hold on!"
"Do I have a choice?""No..." I was panicking and he was joking around. "What do I do, Robin?"
"Uh... anything but STAND THERE! DO SOMETHING!! I'M GONNA FALL!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!"
Robin's dramatic screaming wasn't helping me think. I had to look straight up to see Robin's sneakers but the branch was pretty close to the ground. It wasn't super high. I looked at the ground and noticed that it was strewn with leaves. In fact, there were heaps of leaves all over the place. A perfect cushion.
"Dude, let go!" I yelled.
"literally!" I yelled as an after thought.
"Stop joking around, Violet." I heard Robin yell back.
"No! I'm serious. There are lots of leaves to cushion your fall!"
"You're sure?" He asked.
"Positive." I yelled back.
Robin let one hand go. I heard him take a deep breath and then watched him fall. I was looking straight up at him when I realized something. The leaves wouldn't be breaking his fall. I would.
Shoot!
I took three hurried steps back and tripped on a root that was popping out of the ground. I went down and felt a huge weight fall on one of my legs. Robin.
"Ow, Violet, you didn't mention there being any roots."
"That's my knee, you idiot!"
"Oops."
"Get off!"
-------------------------------------------------
"What happened to the both of you?" Alex's amused voice greeted us as we entered granmama's living room.
Robin and I looked like we'd just been hit by a truck. We were covered in dirt from head to toe and had leaves in our hair. Robin had a few scratches from when he'd hit the ground and I limped slightly. My leg still hurt. Yup, definitely a truck.
Am and Susan looked horrified. Larry just stared in shock.
We awkwardly made our way over to a sofa.
"Oh no." Susan warned "Granmama will not be happy with the bothof you sitting on her sofas like that."
We both groaned. Alright then. We'd clean up, eat and THEN and only then would we tell them what happened.
Hah!
Let them die of curiosity!
Alex looked like she was about to self destruct.
Did you like it? Let me know. :)
Got to go...
