Hey! Chapter 25!!

*Applause*

Yes, thank you, thank you...

I'm gonna make this as long as possible...

Thanks for reading. Continue and enjoy!

"Deep breaths, Vy." Robin sat in a yoga position and pretended to teach me.

I rolled my eyes and hit him with a pillow.

We were all in granmama's living room now. I was still panting from the way I'd run all the way over from the bakery to here. Hey, I wasn't an athlete. I tended to tire fast.

"Did a dog chase you?" Susan asked me.

I shook my head.

"A guy with a knife?"

I shook my head again.

Alex jumped onto the couch I was seated on, "Rayne's ghost?"

I narrowed my eyes at her.

"Very funny, Alex."

"She speaks!" Robin declared.

I looked around for a cushion as Robert laughed.

My eyes found the bag from Pete's bakery. I'd kept it on my lap.

I placed it on the coffee table and Alex pounced. She opened it hastily.

"Cara-honey chips!" She exclaimed.

"Whoa!!" and with that all my cousins hurried to the bag. Robert included.

Any kid who'd been around Mavadi would know that Cara-honey chips were simply divine.

"Leave me some!" I said

"Here." Alex threw Sasha's doggy treats to me.

"Hey!"

"Bad dog."

Rayne - a part of the secret base.

I entered with blue ink into my notebook.

My cousins sat around me having just listened to my account of what I'd heard. The clock on the wall read 10 :00 but Robert still sat in an armchair consumed in his own in thoughts.

"So what we don't know for sure is whether Logan was a part of the secret lair or not."

"This is confusing." Am placed a delicate hand on her temple.

"Let's put it in order." Susan sat up straight. I opened a fresh page.

"Rayne Smith and Logan were childhood friends. We still don't know who Logan is." she began.

"Logan left town." Alex supplied.

I nodded as I wrote.

"Rayne Smith stayed here. He disappeared but came into town once a month to buy groceries." Susan said.

"We should find out the span of time Rayne and Logan were away from each other." Larry said and I scribbled that onto a corner of the page, nodding the entire time.

"A year ago, Rayne left town. He was reported to  have been found dead." I continues.

"But he wasn't! Dead, I mean because Robert caught him after a break-in." Susan was being a great help now.
