Back In Isla's POV :)

"Wow." Jenna is awestruck.

"You are still going?" Alyssa prods.

"Well, I can't back out now." I tell them honestly.

Together we were back in our apartments and getting ready for our Saturday night dates.

I had just relayed them my day of swimming with Daniel. Which, by the way was super fun.

It was adorable that he remembered the little details like how I burn easily and need sunscreen (Sadly.) And when he remembered a swimsuit, my favorite even, I couldn't help the butterflies that invaded my stomach.

Even though Jenna was totally the reason I got to wear my most loved swimsuit. When I asked her about it, she smiled cheekily and didn't say anything. Alyssa fangirled a little when I told her about the little sunscreen moment. Jenna simply shook her head.

"I guess," Jenna drags and I grumble.

"Are you almost finished?" Alyssa was curling my hair and it was taking awhile due to my hair's thickness.

"Yeah just one last strand!" Alyssa is as peppy as always.

I had been a bit on the edge since Daniel and I's swimming trip. After the sunscreen action, we swam and had a ton of fun. But, when we were lazing around with just our feet in the pool he took the time to bring up a topic I didn't want to discuss.

I didn't tell this part to Alyssa and Jenna.

Daniel and I were sitting side by side with just our feet in the pool. We had been down the waterslide, walked along the faux beach and swam around and messed with each other. All in all, it had been entertaining.

We were both tired out and swishing our feet around in the water while in a comfortable silence.

Daniel's hands were placed behind him as he stared at the sun slowly setting. The pool was slowly being emptied because the pool closed as soon as the sun was completely set. He  seemed to be in deep thought and then abruptly turned his head towards me.

"Isla, I have had a lot of fun today and completely forgot how much I love spending time with you. You are my best friend and I am so glad that today we could get back to our old friendship." As he spoke about us being friends, I swear I could see some sort of emotion flicker in his hazel eyes.

I inwardly cringed at his words though. He was confirming our relationship status and another crack was added to my already crumbling heart.

Daniel took a deep breath and shrugged his shoulders before continuing. "I, um, I met someone while I was at college and her name is Allison. I was hoping we could have dinner sometime and you could meet my girlfriend." He seemed a bit nervous while speaking.

"I thought she was your fiancee?"

Daniel seemed to notice his mistake and quickly recovered. "Yeah, I guess she is my fiancee. We haven't spent much time thinking about the wedding, I guess I forget sometimes." His hazel eyes were intense as they stared back into my azure ones.

There were too many emotions in his eyes that I had to look away and clear my throat. "You guess? I would think you would be so thrilled about it that you couldn't forget." I look back at Daniel. "I saw all your instagram photos."

I was expecting to seem an abundance of love and happiness in his eyes as he talked about his soon to be wife, but his eyes remained empty. "You did? Did you like them? How did they make you feel?"

Daniel spoke really fast with both curiousness and confusion written on his face. Suddenly, he pulled back and his face closed up. I couldn't read his emotions because he wasn't letting me in. In that moment his emotions went haywire.
