The week passes with Daniel and me going out, hanging out with Jenna and Alyssa and of course Trevor. Jenna still hasn't talked to Trevor and it is getting a little frustrating. But, it was her life so we all had to be patient.

It was Friday night. Jenna went to talk with Trevor, Alyssa is hanging out with Zach and I was going to have a night by myself.

Our apartment had a large bath tub that I filled with warm water. I light a few candles, put on my favorite music and drop some bath salts in the water.

When I sit down, I finally have a moment to myself. Work and relationships have dominated my life until this point. Being the cliche I was, I put cucumbers on my eyes. They did nothing so I just ate them instead.

And as soon as I get finally relaxed, my phone rings.

"Damn it!" I groan. I don't bother looking at the caller id and just answer. "Hello?"

"Isla, thank goodness you answered." I am guessing Daniel chose to ignore the harshness of my voice. "I was just calling to see if you've seen your inbox lately,"

I have once again calmed down by the time I spoke. It was just Daniel. "No. I was in the middle of relaxing myself with a bath when you interrupted."

"Can I join?" He says jokingly.

"Well, the water is getting cold. So I would hurry up if I was you."

I hear Daniel's sharp intake of breath. "Kidding! Tonight is for relaxing. By myself."

I hear him groan. "Don't start something you can't finish, Isla."

All I do is roll my eyes. "Sure, sure. Is there any reason you wanted me to look at my email?"

"No, I just wanted you to remember if you get one to delete it-"

I cut him off. "We already blocked them remember?"

He ignores me. "I only wanted to tell you that our love means more to me than some silly emailer. Trust me when I say, I trust you with all my heart."

Could he get any sweeter?

"Only for you, princess."

I guess I said the last thing outloud. I laugh. "I love you, Daniel."

"Goodnight, Isla."

The next morning I text Jax to see if he wants to grab coffee with me. After hanging out with him a bit more, I realized he wasn't that bad. Hopefully my friends would believe it too.

Jenna never came home last night, so I assume everything went well with Trevor. I was ordering my drink when Jax texted me if he could just come to my house instead.

"Can I order two of those actually?" The barista nodded and I waited on the sidelines for my coffee.

Sure, is there something wrong? I text back.

I am surprised when the reply comes almost instantaneously. Tell you when I get there. 5 mins away.

Grabbing my coffee, I walk back home as quick as I can. I pull out my keys and then spot Jax leaning against the wall. He had his knees pulled into his chest and when he looked up I saw his eyes were bloodshot.

I put the drinks in one hand and offer the other to Jax. He pulls himself up easily. "What's wrong Jax?"

Jaxs holds my hand a beat too long and then reluctantly lets go. He follows me to the living room. "My mom, she's sick."
