OMG GUYS
I said I would post this, and I haven't. I procrasinated six months.
SIX MONTHS!
And for that, I'm sorry. But, I hope you enjoy the final epilogue of Lost Time!
AND, since I feel so bad about me not updating this epilogue for so long, I made a video edit!
Attached is an edit of Dave Franco, AKA Danny boy!
Don't forget to read the A/N at the bottom!
Daniel's POV
~~~
The beach wind blew through my hair.
I inhaled a deep breath and felt the salty, ocean air course through my lungs.
My hand was intertwined with someone's. I don't question it, keeping my eyes closed.
"Danny, care for some tea?" A bitter voice filled my ears.
Even in my subconscious, I thought that the hand I was holding was Isla's. It wasn't/
I blink open my eyes. Allison was above me with a smile.
"Where's Isla?" I say those few words, and her smile comes crumbling off her face.
"Isla? Danny, we're married now."
I bolt upright in my lounge chair. "What do you mean?"
She sighs. "I knew I signed up for this the moment we were engaged. Daniel, Isla left you."
My heart cracks in my chest.
All I could think was,
Not again, we can't be apart again.
"And we're married?"
I look around at our surroundings. We were on a beautiful beach.
Then the landscape changed before my eyes.
I was on a ship, in the middle of the storm. Allison was still right next to me. I only felt her presence. The wind and rain obscured my vision.
"I would never marry you, Allison! Where's Isla?"
The raindrops were mixing with my tears. I wouldn't have been able to tell you which was which.
She simply points towards the monstrous waves.
Isla was in the ocean. When I wiped my eyes I was able to tell that she was drowning.
"Daniel, Daniel, help!" Her voice held so much pain, and emotion that I broke into sobs.
"Isla!" I jumped into the water before waking up.
"Daniel! Daniel! Please wake up! You're scaring me!" Isla was shaking my shoulders. We were in bed together.
I was choking on air, rushing to take more breaths.
"Daniel, are you okay?" Isla saw that I was awake. Her brown hair was a skew everywhere, her bright blue eyes clouded with sleep and yet still had an edge of alertness.
With one look at her, I knew I had been dreaming.
I grab her tight in my arms. She melts onto my body knowing I only needed comfort.
We pulled away from each other as the last of my dream slipped through my fingers.
I held my wife's arms tightly. Isla smiled at me. "It was nothing more than a dream, Daniel. I'm right here, and I'm never going to leave."
~~~
In the morning I was woken up by the sound of my wife on the phone.
"Do you need any help with the baby shower, Jenna?" I heard her voice ask.
I ruffle my hands through my hair and stand up.
When I walk past the hallway of our new house I spot the empty baby's nursery. A smile plants itself on my face.
Wrapping my arms around Isla, I hug her from behind. Her seven month baby bump was noticeable and I put my hands on it.
There was a baby in there.
My baby.
And that blew me away.
Isla was still talking on and on about baby shower stuff with Jenna. Jenna had her own little boy with Trevor.
Calvin was about two years old.
Zach and Alyssa's baby was joined by another, the couple naming them Zoe and Jordan, respectively.
Isla hadn't recognized my presence so I place lingering kisses all down her neck.
After a soft sigh escapes her mouth, she hung up with Jenna. "I will be over sometime today, I have to go. Bye."
She turns around to face me. Her blue eyes gazed my face. Isla placed her hand on my cheek, I grabbed her waist and gave her a soft kiss.
"I don't get any more than that?" She looked up at me with a small smile.
"Didn't think you would want much more," I shrug, knowing that this would get her going.
"And why would you think that?" Isla pulled my neck down. I met her mouth with mine. She gave me a kiss that left me wondering what I would have to do to her later.
"I have to tell you something, Isla," Immediately her eyes went wide.
"Nothing bad?" I chuckle and she looks relieved. "You're probably going to tell me how much you love me, just like every morning."
"Isla Parkes, I love you more than you will ever know. I'm so glad I have you in my life. And that you are carrying our little baby."
Isla grins at me. "I love you too, Danny boy."
I roll my eyes at the pet name she often calls me.
"Breakfast now? Any weird cravings I should have in mind while I cook?"
Isla looked up at my with hooded eyelids. Desire coursed through her words. "I can think of one,"
I laugh, and remember how much I loved the woman standing next to me.
Our kisses never got old, our lifestyle never too boring.
The only thing I would have changed, is making her mine sooner.
