Daniel's POV

~~~
The cafe was warmly lit and almost calmed my anxiousness.
Almost.
My mind reeled over all the apologies I had written earlier. It was 7:10 and Isla wasn't here yet. I really hoped she didn't get cold feet because I need her.
I realized as soon as Allison was gone, how much I needed Isla. She completed me.
If only I didn't believe the email.
If only she will forgive me.
The cafe doors swing open and Isla walks in.
I momentarily lose my breath.
She was stunning.
Isla had always been beautiful but tonight she added darker eye makeup which made her blue eyes even more striking. The dress she wore matched the weather which had just barely begun to get colder.
Her eyes scan the crowd until they meet mine and I grin at her despite my nervousness. Everything will go fine.
Especially since I have her ring.
I was considering it something like renewing vows, except for we were renewing our promise.
Isla walks over to me and I give her a hug. She seems taken off guard but hugs me back. When she pulls back a smile smile graced her pink lips.
"You want to get a drink? Then maybe we could talk a walk at the park not too far from here,"
Isla nods and tugs some of her chocolate colored hair behind her ears. "Sure. We can talk then."
We both ordered drinks, Isla a herbal tea and I got a hot chocolate.
Soon we are walking through the park. Night had fallen and the moon was full and glimmering. Clouds danced across the sky and I couldn't pick out any stars.
"Looks like a storm is coming," Isla raises her head to the sky and I stare at her. What I wouldn't do to kiss her right now.
She turns her head back to me. I was staring a moment too long and she saw. I turn away, my cheeks gaining a blush that wasn't there before.
"I hope not, the weather is perfect right now.
"Rain is always welcome," She mutters. "At least for me."
We were walking side by side through the mostly empty park. I drink the last of my hot chocolate and toss it in a garbage. Isla does the same and I grab her hand.
I see Isla shiver and I grin.
"Isla," I start by taking a deep breath. "I am so so-"
She cuts me off. "I know you broke up with Allison."
"Figured."
"How come, Daniel? You were engaged and seemed happy."
I shake my head. "I realize now that I was never truly happy." I stop Isla in the walkway and grab her hands. "Only one person can make me feel this way. Isla, I never stopped loving you even when I thought you cheated."
Isla glares up at me. "How could you believe that Daniel? I thought you had enough faith in me, in our relationship."
"I will apologize time and time again for that, Isla. I didn't know what I was thinking. My parents were almost ruined because of an affair, I guess I was too scared for that to happen to us."
