Isla's POV

~~~
After I prepared all the desserts I wanted to make, I got myself ready. I had only seen pictures of Allison, but I knew that she had gorgeous brown hair that was almost exactly like mine, except hers was curly and a few inches shorter.
She was really pretty with a dazzling smile and model body. She had tan and dark skintones. Allison seemed to look nice enough, but I would know the truth when I met her.
I had washed and curled my hair yesterday so I had some loose curls leftover. I put it into a high ponytail and called it good.
Next I washed my face, brushed my teeth and put on light makeup. When I got dressed I picked a floral sundress and sparkly flats.
Jenna was still in her hiding in her room working on whatever her newest project was and I headed out to my car. With my keys and phone in hand I head to the elevator, lobby and then my car. I texted Daniel I was on my way and used Google maps to find his new address.
Daniel told me when we were swimming that he moved into a small apartment with his fiance and gave me his address.
When I parked and looked at the apartment building, nerves clawed their way out of where I had been keeping them hidden.
What if Allison doesn't like me? What if I don't like her? How should I act? All I know is that I cannot let Allison see that I am still in love with Daniel. I couldn't act jealous because Daniel decided a long time ago that 'just friends' was all I ever was to him.
I take a deep breath and ignore all the worst case scenarios running through my head. Allison looked like a really sweet girl. As long as Daniel was happy I would force myself to be happy too.
When I step out of the car I turn to the back seat and grab the caramel popcorn, chocolate cupcakes and pink lemonade. I really didn't want to make two trips so I attempted to pile it all in my arms at one time.
Wrong idea.
I lost my balance and fell to the side, the pink lemonade jug sliding out of my arms. Out of nowhere a set of thin and tan arms grabs the lemonade and a different set of strong arms grabs my waist to steady me.
Blush adorned my cheeks and rapidly spreads throughout my face. I look up to see that Daniel was the one who steadied me and who I'm guessing is Allison saved my lemonade.
I look up at her. "Thank you so much, I don't know what I was thinking trying to carry this all." When I say I look up at her, I mean she is a couple inches taller than me and about an inch shorter than Daniel. I stick out my hand. "Isla Woods. Nice to meet you." I smile warmly.
Allison looks at me from head to toe and I see distaste distinct in her auburn eyes. She grasps my hand loosely. "I'm Allison, nice to me-good to- I finally met you." I drop my hand and turn to Daniel.
I shove my food in Allison's hands and give Daniel a tight hug which he reciprocates. "Glad to see you again Daniel,"
"Thanks for coming Isla, you are welcome any time." I smile up at him and he smiles back.
I turn back to Allison who is raging with anger and I am assuming jealousy.
That is for the awful introduction.
In that moment I allowed myself to be a little petty.
I help Allison with the food and let Daniel lead us to his apartment.
I turn to her. "How long have you known Daniel?"
"Long enough to know that you are no good to him." She blows off my question and uses her longer legs to walk ahead of me.
