A feeling deep down told me that Austin didn't want me to hear what he just admitted to me silently. I smiled, continuing to hug him tightly, inhaling his familiar scent of a mix of strong cologne and mint.
I pulled away from our friendly hug and stared into Austin's beautiful eyes. I smiled at him and without hesistation placed a quick kiss on his cheek. I could see his cheeks change to a dark shade of pink from my unexpected kiss.
"Let's back to Alex's." He says, still holding my waist.
"I really don't want to." I whine, throwing my head back, supporting my action by holding to the back of Austin's neck. I reposition myself as Austin's incredibly adorable laugh echos throughout the empty park.
"I'm still really hungry so I'm going to continue eating the nice and thoughtful picnic you packed us before we started making out." I laughed at my own comment, Austin joining me. I began twisting my body to get off of his lap to get the basket when Austin's hands tightly grip around my hips, preventing me from moving.
"I'll get the basket. But stay the way you are." He says grinning at me in a certain way that made my heart skip a beat. I nod in agreement and he turns carefully and grabs the basket, scooting it closer to both of us. I honestly didn't mind at all that he wanted to remain seated in this postion because I love feeling secure in his strong arms, especially since I've missed him so much.
I grabbed the previously opened bag of lime chips and began eating them watching Austin stare at me, smiling at how I chew. Rolling my eyes at him, I try to start a conversation so we wouldn't just be sitting here, me eating and him staring at me.
"So how's Miami?"
"It's so incredible. I love everything about it! I live right by the beach so whenever I'm bored or anything I just go outside to my backyard which is the ocean. It's so beautiful there and the weather is always amazing. It's way better than Texas." he says emphazinging the word way in his last sentence. My huge smile slowly began fading at the fact that he loves Florida way more than here, with me. "But I do miss San Antonio and my friends, and you." he adds, allowing my smile to reappear.
"And your career? How's that going?" I keep the conversation going.
"It's going pretty good. I've been in the studio for hours every day for the last few months working on a few songs that I will hopefully release soon. I want to make everything perfect for my fans. They mean everything to me and I just want to make them happy like they have me." His smile grows when he talks about his Mahomies. A made a Twitter a few months ago to contact friends from school and many Mahomies started following me and tweeting me asking why I never come around anymore or never tweet Austin. I respond to most of them but pretty much avoid the topic of me and Austin.
"What song are you planning on releasing as your debt single?" I'm curious to find out what kind of songs Austin's new management want him to sing that they know will make him instantly famous. All companies take control of the artist and I just hope Austin stands his guard and puts in his opinion on his work as well.
"Umm. I'm not really supposed to tell you because you know it's confidential." he laughs while placing air quotation marks.
"Oh." I manage to say. I don't want Austin to get in trouble or anything because of me.
"It's okay. It's only you and I in this whole park. No one will hear me but you have to promise never to sing this in public or anything." He said pulling his arm from my back and holding his pinky up in the air in front of me.
"I promise." I say laughing as I intertwine my pink with his and pull down making our promise official in a childish way. My mind flashes back to when Austin promised to me that he wouldn't leave me again. When I get out of my trance I see in his eyes that he was thinking the same thing.
